This was one of our highlights of the entire trip. We had all 9 of our direct family (kids and grandkids) and they even had a blast. Sunset at The Old A beach was so memorable. Our photographer (Andrew) was so amazing. He knew what shots to take. Highly recommend this.

I spent several hours searching to find a family-friendly photographer that could photograph our large (27 people!) family while we vacationed in Kona. I made the right choice. Our photographer, Hanna, made our family feel very comfortable and to relax. She was efficient, so the younger kids didn't get impatient. She was fun and personable. Here shots were amazing - wonderful placement and lighting. Hawaii Family Photos was very good to work with; they went the extra mile to make sure that I was happy with their service. I highly recommend them!

The wife and I wanted a special look for our son's graduation pictures since our older son got screwed by COVID. We were pleasantly surprised by the efficiency and speed of the shoot and the "look" they were able to provide. We still have the pictures of our kids up in our living room and hall and I have to admit, even we like the way our kids look thanks to their help!

From the booking process to the day, everything was prefect. Austin communicated very well and made the experience a lot of fun. We even had a two and four year old with us. He was very patient and the pictures came out better than I could have hoped for. If you are thinking about family pictures, book here and you won't regret it.

Austin captured our last night on our honeymoon. The sunset was beautiful and he captured our love and comedy in the pictures. If you are looking to experience family photos in Hawaii book with Hawaii Family Portraits. He was so understanding and rebooked us when our tour gave us the wrong end time. He rebooked us without hesitation. He also gave us advice on which beach would give us beautiful sunset pictures. And the beach he recommended was not busy, and we were able to capture great pictures. Thanks Austin again for capturing us.

Our photographer Hannah was absolutely amazing. She was genuinely friendly & so creative with her suggested photo shots/poses. From the start, the ease of communication with Hawaii Family Portraits (from scheduling a session online, doing a free phone consultation before we flew to the Big Island, reminder texts & emails) was incredibly impressive & seamless. We had gallery proofs to view within 48 hours & all my questions were answered so timely. Our final gallery was ready a week later! I have never had such quick, yet incredibly high quality photos get turned over so fast. In planning our family vacation, getting photos was not even on our list initially but I am so glad we fit it into our schedule. Just be ready to upgrade your package & want to spend more $ than planned because that's what happened to us! We absolutely love our photos & all our friends/family have been raving about them as well. Thank you Hannah!!

I had scheduled a photo session for my husband and I 4 months prior to our first trip to Hawaii to celebrate my 40th birthday. So on the morning of my birthday we left and drove 45 minutes to the chosen beach. We had also confirmed the appointment the day before. While waiting for the photographer I called the main line and was informed that the photographer had read her schedule wrong and got the days mixed up. They asked us to reschedule but we were leaving the next morning not to mention we had scheduled it ON my birthday. Rather than trying to squeeze it in in a different location and wait on the photographer yet again we cancelled all together which was very disappointing. I just cant make sense of confirming an appt only to have her not show up-opefully this isn’t something that happens often with this company.

I and the photographer we had scheduled for you are both very sorry that we failed you. This was a hard lesson we have learned from and have since made sure will never happen again. I'm wholeheartedly sorry this fluke mistake happened to you and negatively impacted your birthday and vacation. I can only hope you will allow us to make it up to you if you ever visit Kona again. Please contact me directly and I will do the session myself at no cost to you. I know that is completely inadequate but I hope you will take me up on this one day.

My dad came into town from NY for the first time with his girlfriend and this was just an impromptu photo shoot, but this was DEFINITELY the highlight of their visit. I am so grateful that I will be able to cherish the beautiful moment with my dad because Austin did a phenomenal job of capturing our essence—the laughter, playfulness and love our family shares. He kept things fun and easy and allowed our family to enjoy the moment. Austin did a great job of finding the perfect lighting for our skin tone and capturing the stunning sunset. Highly recommend; trust me you won’t regret it!

All I can do is smile when I look at our Hawaiian vacation family photos. Not only are they great photos but scheduling and the entire experience was very easy and straightforward. All 10 of us felt at ease with the photographer and ended up with great memories. Since we had never been to the Big Island, I had a telephone conversation with Austin before arriving and he answered all my questions and put me at ease It was just as he said it would be and we couldn’t be happier with the photos. Austin was great and we received great customer service. Customer satisfaction is definitely his priority. If you visit the Big Island and are in need of a photographer, we highly recommend Hawaiian Family Portraits.

I love family photos and when my multigenerational family traveled to Hawaii in May, I knew I wanted beautiful memorable photos to capture this special trip. Setting up the appointment on-line was efficient and all my questions were promptly answered. The photographer was on time and spent some time establishing rapport with us which spot on with our two young grandkids. The sunset location was ideal …. so many beautiful photos were captured. We had a great time, every minute was stress free. Highly recommend, and very grateful for these special photos.
