Went for kayaking at the sal backwater mangrove and it was such a surreal experience Mr Prakash Alfonso was such a kind host and instructor he made us so comfortable and confident to do the sport my 7 yr old son did it with us too which was unbelievable for me. Our guide Shankar dada was a man of muscle n patience a highly recommended activity for the entire family and how could I not mention he kind samosas he had arranged for us post the activity

If you're a bird lover this trip is a must ! You get to see Cormorants, Ibis, Herons, Kites, Ducks, Kingfishers aplenty within an hour of pleasant paddling in the shallow tranquil waters of Sal

Absolutely wonderful experience ! Did kayaking for the first time and had a time of life. The instructions were very clear ,safety was excellent. Saw many birds and beautiful lotuses. Everyone who comes to Goa should not miss this !!

Magical experience, wonderful to see all the birds along the backwaters. Good equipment and safe. Easy booking experience with great communication after booking the tour so the meeting point and time was clear. Definitely recommend.

Very well managed and very nice host. We enjoyed the kayaking experience at sal backwater. It was for a small group of 4 people. Once in water, you feel safe cause the kayaks are stable and you have life vest. The journey is nice and relaxing

Amazing views and a really helpful guide. We saw loads of birds and as a total kayaking beginner i felt included. Highly recommended!

I'd booked the trip for my girlfriend, being a true twitcher! What I hadn't anticipated was that i would become one myself! Quite possible one of the most peaceful and serene experiences I have had in India. Was introduced to so many different birds and was even luck enough to spot an otter! Would definitively recommend for anyone visiting goa! +++

Prakash was very knowledgeable and welcoming. He guided us thoroughly and my family and I had a great time. The views were amazing. Prakash said morning is the best time, believe him! The early morning sunrise and watching all the bird activity was great. After the trip, Prakash treated us to some snacks, which were much needed!

Prakash was a fantastic host and made us all feel very welcomed. The kayaking was great and a great way to explore nature with a guide, plus we saw some kingfishers along the way. Once the tour ended, Prakash treated us all to a samosa and fruit juice. Would highly recommend!

Background: 6th time in Goa as a family from Switzerland, 5 days in south of Goa, 3 weeks in India, 1 out of 13 tours during this trip
Don’t miss this magical highlight of Goa! Kayaking through the morning mist on the backwaters with mystical mangroves, beautiful water lilies, birds: awakening, fishing, group-flying, bathing, singing… grazing water buffalos, running moorhens, … was a truly unforgettable experience. Shankar was not only a professional guide concerning the knowledge about all the birds, giving us a short and useful introduction to kayaking and navigating us through the side arms of the river Sal, but perfectly managed the balance between giving information at the right time and let enough room to fully experience this breathtaking scenery. I’m not a morning person at all, but if still in Goa I certainly would get up again and again to do this peaceful and still interesting trip.
The kayaking itself (our first time) was easy for all of us, means comfortable, secure, surprisingly easy to handle, in the end a bit tired, but the day after with no sore muscles although I’m not trained at all. Prakash awaited us by our return with disinfection of hands and a small snack and cool juice, most welcome. He has also a booklet prepared with pictures of the birds and their English names, which is very helpful if you know some but being not familiar with names in a foreign language (pied kingfisher, different bee eaters, bulbul, snake head comorant …).
All in all definitely an unforgettable memory for all of us and a trip to truly fall in love with Goa!

Hi, What is the duration on this kayaking activity? We are a group of 4 staying in South Goa and would like to experience this expect I found the prices to be super high. Is this the correct estimate I am seeing? What is the per person cost and also are there any group disounts?

They don't offer pick up but perhaps they can get a taxi affiliate to do that for you. Best is to drop them an email or whatsapp request and they are quite responsive.

No this is in South Goa, near Majorda. If you are looking for something near Candolim, try operators in Nerul...there are a few eco-friendly ones.
