A fantastic day in Nyerere National Park. Saw all the animals we wanted to see. The guide and driver were great. Can really recommend a day trip.

This review is based on my own experiences and reflects my personal opinion.
The Nyerere National Park was booked and visited as part of a safari tour during our honeymoon in Zanzibar.
First of all, I would like to mention that this safari tour is not exactly cheap, but it is a life experience. I would also like to mention that we booked the small safari tour (1 day). There is also the option of booking a two-day safari tour there, with overnight stay. Accordingly, this would be more expensive.
It must also be said right from the start that the rangers do their best to give guests/visitors an incomparable experience. However, this is wild nature and so it is not only in the hands of the rangers whether you see the animals. The Nyerere National Park is really huge, unimaginable. We drove about 150-250 KM in one day and only saw a tiny fraction of the national park. Therefore, from this perspective, it can happen that you hardly see any animals during the safari tour because they are not at the same point where you are or they are "hiding" from the scorching sun.
We were lucky and saw all of the "Big Fives" for this national park at least. We also had a great ranger who told us and explained so much that you were not only able to marvel at the wonderful animals and nature, but also got to know more about it.
It really is a life experience that you gain there. It is almost impossible to put into words. A real adventure, I don't want to imagine what it must be like to do a two-day or even the big five-day safari tour there.
One thing has to be said, however, that once the tour starts, there is no opportunity to go to the toilet as usual. This also applies to lunch, where you drive to a spot that has been specially set up for this purpose. There are toilets that have been installed there, but at least in our case, they were so infested with wasps that entering these places could be life-threatening. The alternative of using nature, especially for women or people with specific needs, is a factor that should not be underestimated.
Apart from that, I absolutely recommend booking and experiencing this safari. It will be something you will never forget! It is really worth every cent, euro and dollar.
However - caution: As already mentioned, you may have to accept it and take the risk of not seeing anything significant on a really unlucky day, as the animals are really wild there and live in the wild. Therefore, it is also possible that they are somewhere else entirely and you do not see them.
However, I would take this risk again and again. When do you get the opportunity to do and experience a safari tour like this? Not really often in your life, if even just once. So take the opportunity if you are already in Zanzibar or in Africa in general and go on a safari tour. You won't see anything like this again anytime soon.
Have fun “traveling” 🤙🏼 - clear recommendation!

Visited this national park and had the best experience of my life. We saw all the animal excepts the leopards which the guide says mainly spotted at night. The guides were amazing! We went into an open air truck and saw the animals in their wild habitat. This place is truly beautiful! Definitely worth it! Be prepared for the rough roads which was also the highlight of my trip

I just finished a Nyerere day safari through Zanzibar and it has been by far the most amazing trip I’ve ever experienced. Our guide Cleopa was the best guide I could have wished for: he was genuinely happy to be with our group, which included a small and very excited child. He was extremely knowledgeable, kind and helpful and made the whole experience incredible. We saw so many animals up close (about 50 lions, several cheetahs, leopards, rhinos…), he just made the safari magic happen! We’ll be forever grateful to Mbio Mbio Safaris and especially to Cleopa for this incredible experience.

I wanted to leave this review as it was the best experience I have ever had. To start with the booking process was so easy, my agent David was always super helpful in answering all my questions and making suggestions. I was a little hesitant because I was travelling by myself so I wanted a secure company. From the moment I arrived everything was as planned, the pick ups, the drop off's, the experiences and my guide Sele went over his way to make my dreams come true in terms of wildlife spotting in Nyerere. He was always so worried about my comfort and happiness. I can never thank him enough for making it possible for me to have an undescribable experience. I will definitely recommend this to all my friends. Asante Sana from the bottom of my heart Mbio Mbio Safaris.

In short: I couldn't recommend more this tour and this company. This was our honeymoon and everything was like a dream, we enjoyed every minute of it.
Now some more details to help you choose: Finding a safari is hard, we had hundreds of options, and I'm really happy we found Mbio Mbio. The communication through WhatsApp with Hilary before booking was great, he answered all our questions really patiently (and we had many as it was our first time in Africa). We took the mid-range version, which to be honest when we saw the accommodations looked more like luxurious to me, all the places we stayed were beautiful. Of course it's a question of budget, but if you can afford it I would recommend the mid-range option, because safari are exhausting, and slipping in a real bed in a beautiful tent or bungalow at the end of the day is magical. The tour was perfectly organised, from the pick up to the airport, the first night of hotel in Arusha, to the briefing each morning and evening to agree on times and what was next, the communication from every member of the staff was just perfect. Our guide was really friendly, knowledgeable of the parks and animals, and a really good and safe driver. He was always finding the best spot to see perfectly all animals, and we saw them all!
The food at lunch is also really tasty and always plenty. The company has their own cook and one is coming with you to prepare 5-6 different pots for the car (we were 6 in the car so you can imagine it's a lot). So you will always have plenty and tasty food. For the morning and evening it will depend of the range you chose. If you confirm budget I think you also eat this food, which is really good, but we went for mid-range so we got the food from the accomodation, which to be honest could be Michelin restaurant.
For the payment it went really smoothly, we paid 20% upfront my card online (a bit scary since we didn't know anything at the time but don't worry everything went well with them) and the rest in cash when arriving, so you will need to change dollars.
To summarise, just go for it, you won't regret it, and I know the mid-range might seem like a lot of money, but it's great value when you live it, and not that expensive for what it is and the beauty of the parks and accommodations.

Mbio Mbio safari was an exceptional company to work with to book our African Safari. David answered our many questions and gave advice so we could set an itinerary exactly as we wanted it. Our guide Wilson Kihiyo was warm, welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. He patiently ensured we got to see every single animal we had dreamed about and then many more. We learnt so much about the animals and the country. It was the trip of a lifetime, one we will never forget. We loved it so much we are planning to come again. Thanks again Wilson for making our trip so special.

Reliable and excellent service! We booked our safari to Selous with Victor from Seko safaris couple of months before we came to Tanzania. We are delighted. Victor was very accommodating and made sure we had a great experience. Our guides Nico and Alifa were truly amazing. We cannot recommend them enough. They were very knowledgeable and helpful. We shared a lot of laughters with them. Very friendly staff! Thank you Seko safaris!

Excellent and fast communication through WhatsApp. Very good service with pick-up and drop-off at the airport. The safari and service exceeded our expectations. Our guide Jacob went over and above to give us a great safari experience. Most likely he was the happiest when we caught the last one of the "the big five". During the week we had a great local food experience thanks to chef Matthew.
