Relatively small falls just off the road, look for the ‘712’ on the east side of the bridge. Not sure if I’d swim there, it was a long weekend but no boozed up GTA teens to be seen, just a few quiet picnicers. Better than Big Chute though.

Great spot and a great time. Waited for the fishermen to leave and started swimming. Strong swimmers do fine and there are snakes. (Duh). Visited for the first time with a small group of friends.
At one point we did not appreciate being berated by a funeral ceremony trying to take possession of the public area. After agreeing to a simply made compromise (removal of adult beverages) we were all able to share the area and respect the process.
Accused of being "city" people and openly drinking is not a cop out to get your own way.
Were people. Were local. And would have gladly made concessions to a polite request instead of posturing and accusations.
I understand its not fun. Funerals. Im just dissapointed.
Your attitude speaks volumes. Just talk to people. Most of us are pretty understanding.

It's beautiful BUT within the first 15 min of arriving we encountered 3 GIANT SNAKES. The first one was hidden and wasn't visible until we saw it strike at our 3 month old puppy who was sniffing the grass next to the rocks where you sit. Luckily, my husband yanked her leash back in time. It was a large black snake. The next two ENORMOUS SNAKES were slithering in the bush right next to us. A nice, local dad who was fishing pulled one out of the bush to show us. I saw the other huge snake slithering in the same bush. His young son didn't seem bothered with the idea of swimming with them (the snake his dad pulled out dropped into the water and swam around a bit before heading to an adjacent shore). Maybe the locals are comfortable, but we sure weren't and left soon after. Ugh.
By the way, if you do go, use the coordinates on Google or you might not see the turn off, as there weren't any signs.

This area is not a waterslide or 'swimming hole', it is a rock face upon which water flows from another lake. As a result of drownings at this site, tall fences have been put up to discourage people from diving off the bridge into the rocks below on their 'great adventures'.
This area has lots of rock and very strong currents, and is not a safe place to swim. It is also not safe to use as a waterslide, unless you enjoy being smashed against rocks both above and below water, and possibly being injured or killed.
It is a nice spot to look at rapids, stretch your legs briefly or enjoy the sites. Sadly, people litter, and some tend to behave badly, so if you're going to stop by be prepared for pretty much anything.

Love the falls and rapids. Favourite place in Muskoka. Great view and warm water. Love, love this place. Come back every year for the water. Need swim shoes. Life jackets for kids. Very sunny spot.

This little known gem is where locals come to take advantage of the natural waterslide. The dam from Six Mile Lake allows water to slide down a rock face. Depending on the water levels each year, there can be many sections to ride. It is not controlled, so this is at YOUR OWN RISK. Watch the locals and get tips before you try. Otherwise it is a nice place to sit on the rocks and enjoy the rapids. Can be reached by car from hwy 400, exit 162, Muskoka Side Road 34 or by boat via Gloucester Pool between Port Severn Lock and Big Chute.

This place is a little hard to find but well worth it. Bring life jackets if you want to swim are the current is strong. The falls are beautiful to look at.

I'm a local and have been comming here for over 30 years but like all great places people from the city have destroyed this place.
Young teens and 20 something year Olds fighting because one guy dissed another. They drink beer and smash the bottles on the rocks or throw them into the rapids where all the kids want to swim.
The county has installed large steel bar walls on the bridge because even though we never needed them before in the 100+ year history of the place kids from the GTA destroyed private property and this was an idea to stop them from comming to the area.
As long as you come through the week it's not bad. But weekends are a write off especially long weekends when the young boys are all boozed up looking for trouble.

Nice rapids and falls. Unfortunately, heaving foot traffic leaves a lot of garbage behind. Popular with fishermen, but cleanup is advisable.
