We started our journey in Powell River and rented kayaks from Powell River Kayaks.
Paddled through Malispina Inlet and decided to make Feather Cove our base camp spot for 3 nights.
The camp spots are set up on platforms and each one had its own charm depending if you want a woodsy vibe or a water view.

Most people just stayed one night and then went on to the more popular Copeland Islands, but we enjoyed staying put and exploring the islands while marking Feather Cove our base.

The Sunshine Coast trail passes through the upper part so we had European hikers that stopped in for a night of camping as well.

The tide comes up quite high so we staged our kayak on logs for the evening and took it down the rocky beach in the morning.

Stunning spot and we would go back again!

This was our second trip with Beyond the Road Adventures, the first a day sail and this latest, the 4 day Desolation Sound Exploration.
Again good, kind and caring service from owners Joannie and Ted.
We enjoyed our stay at the Blind Channel Resort but disappointed we had to share a bathroom.
Meals exceptional there and on the boats.
The resort was quiet, restful and in a beautiful setting.
Jess was the excellent skipper and guide for the 2 day wild life viewing. She was versatile in finding a variety wild life and historical exploration.

We rented two boats. One had electrical problems (alarms went off nightly and the battery failed to charge). The other was delivered to us with almost no fuel or water. Despite numerous attempts to resolve these issues (and a promise to by the company to reimburse us for the fuel), we can’t get anyone to call us back.

This is a world class boating area. We sailed here the month of June and it was breathtaking. Seals, eagles and dolphins but no whale this time of year. Good anchorage areas and a few marinas.

My daughters didn’t realize what we could do without phones & iPads. What an amazing bonding experience and we will stay longer next year! We hit every nook and cranny we could find from past travels and places recommended by friends. Of course the main attractions like stocking up in Lund, dropping prawn traps off Savary Island, crabs a plenty off the north tip of Marina Island. Clams and oysters galour off the shores and sandy coves near Townley Islands. I don’t care how you get here but it is a bucket list must to bring your family closer together again for true love and relationship building. ❤️🙏🍷

We spent 5 days camping and kayaking in the marine park. The beautiful scenary was breathtaking, and the diversity of wildlife was amazing - we saw seals, sealions, dolphins, hummingbirds and eagles! I could not recommend the peace and tranquility here enough

I have sailed all over the world, and British Columbia is the best cruising area by far. The weather, in summer, is generally pleasant. The main cruising area, from Victoria to the Broughton Archipelago, is protected, with hundreds of islands and thousands of anchorages, many of which you might have to yourselves, even at the height of cruising season. The most accessible are the Gulf Islands, but the best area is Desolation Sound. You can get there in one very long day from Vancouver, or two easy days. Two long days from Victoria. The water is warm, especially in Pendrill Sound, the warmest water north of, well, it's warmer than most of California. Great scenery, open enough for sailing but protected enough to be safe. What's not to like?

A couple friends and I kayaked all the way here from a cabin we rented, and we went around a small island in the middle of the park. The amount of marine life there was unbelievable! If you're lucky, you can catch a couple of seals playing and the occasional eagle.

We were lucky to arrive by sailboat and had three days to enjoy the tranquility of the Sounds. The water was great as well and learned to SUP. Visited the fabulous hanging lake and waterfalls on West Redondo Island - Teakerne Lake.

We've boated here for 41 years. Love the clear and warm water. Lots of anchorage sites when using a stern tie. It's surprising how accessible cell phone coverage is here.
