This is a non-operating park so there is not very much to do in comparison to a regular park. It is also a river park and thus under the vision of Ontario Parks it is more designed as park for people canoeing versus driving. All of that considered, there is an easy way to drive to the park as Black Sturgeon Road follows it most of the way. After looking at the map we decided that Eagle Mountain looked like a decent destination, as it is only 27 km from Highway 17. The road is gravel but was easily passable in late April. We stopped at Church Road which would have been a bit more difficult under the conditions as it still had some deep snow in parts (though probably would have been easy enough with a sturdier vehicle). From here we walked to the bridge which was overlooking the river (about 300m) and got to see what could only be described as a typically great Canadian vista, with a snow tinted springtime river surging beneath Eagle Mountain. In all it made for a good trip out for the day, though probably not for people looking for regular park amenities.
