This pristine white sand beach is ideal for swimming & snorkeling, with access only by boat. The water is very clear and not too terribly deep, so those who may be more timid in the water would be comfortable here (with life jackets). We saw dozens of sea turtles and were able to swim right up close to them. The turtles were beautiful and fascinating to watch. An absolute “must do” with teens! Our teenage boys loved this spot.

This is a sugar sand beach accessible by boat, i can’t wait until they do something with the resort to make this beach accessible again

Gorgeous beach which now can only be reached by boat due to the closure of Caneel Bay Beach Resort, yet, it is still a beautiful beach.

Only accessible by boat. Hopefully they'll restore or replace the former hotel sometime. It has potential to be very.n8ce.

Very nice beach, it was our first stop out of Cruz Bay Wharfside Zodiac rental. We had to tie to a mooring and swim to shore. Very good experience. Was slightly rough but manageable on the boat ride through the north shores of St John. Recomended.

Beautiful beach that takes some work to get to… but it’s worth it! Part of the Caneel Bay resort, we took kayaks from Cruz Bay along the north shore to this beach. Beautiful white sand and decent snorkeling. Decent coral and an abundance of fish on the right-hand side of the bay.

We made a great stop at Scott Beach at Caneel Bay during our VI Ecotours kayak tour last week. It was an easy paddle from Honeymoon Beach and virtually empty with Caneel Bay Resort still closed and with no available land access to the beach. We had stayed in one of the rooms on Scott Beach the summer before the 2017 hurricanes, and it was incredibly sad to see these rooms completely destroyed and still not rebuilt. Fortunately, the beach remains pristine (it's my favorite on St. John) and can still be accessed from the water. After relaxing on the white sand soaking in the sun, we snorkeled in the clear, calm water and spotted five sea turtles. After continuing down to the rocks at the south end of the beach, we spotted stingrays and a octopus. There also is a rock ledge on the north end of the beach with lots of fish that you can see close up in very shallow water. All and all, it's a great location to visit by boat or kayak if you plan on visiting Honeymoon Beach.

We kayaked and snorkeled with a fantastic guide from Virgin Island Ecotours from Honeymoon Beach. Beautiful area to kayak and viewing the green sea turtles and stingray through crystal clear water with a white sandy bottom made the snorkeling fantastic.

We saw Sea Rays & Turtles. We kayaked over to the beach mid day from Honeymoon Beach and only took two swipes across the bottom before we saw them.

this is a great beach for snorkeling but difficult to get to as it is part of the closed Caneel Bay resort and only accessible by water. Best bet is a VIecotours tour.

Can we visit this beach if we are not guests of the Caneel Bay Resort?
Rédigé le 31 janvier 2015
You can visit, but you can't use the resort's chairs. And you have to pay to park at Caneel Bay if you are not staying there. I think it's $20 to park.
There are so many wonderful beaches on St. John that you won't miss Scott Beach at all...

Are children allowed on this beach?
Rédigé le 29 janvier 2015
When we went in November a staff member came up to greet us and we ended up having a long chat with him, he was a native to St John and had lots of great information to share. He was posted there because a couple had complained about children on Scott, he was making sure the kids stayed away from this couple. It was 2 kids having a great time with their parents, we weren't bothered in the least. The staff member told us that when it's not high season children are allowed on Scott. Hope this helps.

Do you have to be a hotel guest to go this beach?
Rédigé le 8 janvier 2015
Above information is correct. ALL beaches in the US Virgin islands are public. The only issue is land access to them. That can be private/regulated. If you're coming off a boat, just drop anchor and swim in! From land side at Caneel, you can snorkel around the point from Caneel Beach to Scott Beach if you want to explore there and your party are all adults. Just keep your beach towel etc. on Caneel Beach. Enjoy!
