We did the One Day Ruc Mon cave adventure.
Honestly it was an incredible experience, and breathtaking views - but I don’t think I fully understood the extend of the trekking / what was involved. I’m a fairly athletic person and the “medium difficulty” hike was very Challenging. There were also some points during the caving where you had to squeeze your way through holes in the rock that I think would be very difficult for anyone on the larger size.
All in all I’m proud that I did it, the tour guides (Tom and Quon) were awesome - the food was delicious, and it was a cool experience… but do brace yourself for a very physically exhausting day, it’s not something I would undertake lightly

We came to Phong Nha to do the paradise & dark cave tour. Incredible tour with delicious local lunch. The dark cave was our favourite. Our tour guide Quan was absolutely amazing!! So friendly and so informative - we had such a good time with him.

Honestly if you’re looking for a unique cave tour experience this is the one, they do one tour a day with a group of no more than 20 people and you are there all day. It really is a fantastic experience as you don’t fully know what to expect or what will be around the next corner, you can’t help but be impressed by the sheer size of how big it really is once you’re inside. You will see no other tour groups or tourists, that’s how intimate this tour is. Tom our guide for the day is a really nice guy, very friendly and funny and ready to help if needed.
I will say it’s not for the faint of heart if you have a fear of heights and you do need to have a level of fitness and average swimming ability to be able to trek up to the entrance, through the thick overgrowth and navigate over rocky terrain as you go through the cave, to finish up swimming out the huge cave. If I was to do it again I’d wear either a pair of old trainers or hiking shoes you don’t mind getting wet, as the footwear provided can make the trekking part a little slippery underfoot.
It’s a fun day out and you have plenty of opportunity to really get to know your fellow explorers over lunch, which is a real taste of Vietnamese food and cooking style.
The guides are on hand to make sure you are safe the whole time you are in the cave as some areas can be a little tricky to navigate.
Overall I had a fantastic day on this trip it really was a unique and memorable experience!

We loved the experience of trekking and climbing through the jungle. Exploring a gigantic cave and swimming inside it. Experiencing absolute darkness in silence are priceless. Our guide Tom Hoang the best person in the world. Very willing to answer all our questions, funny, friendly and the best kind of person you can meet. We were safe the whole time. Unforgettable and very accessible experience

It was a great tour, bot was our tour guide and he was extremely friendly and informed us with everything about the caves, animals, plants and local villages. The food was fantastic and all the other staff involved were very friendly even though they didn't speak English

Great tour. 9/10. A decent cave exp worth doing. Gem and lee are great. They did everything they could do to make it a great day.

🕒 Duration: 1 Day (Morning to Evening)

🇬🇧 We had this adventure with Greenland Tour. They pick you up early morning and in about 1hr you start. First across the jungle and rivers, then climbing into the cave. 🏞 After the lunch (quite cool 😋) you go deep in the cave illuminated only by the torchlight in your helmet. I won't spolier more 😁.
The guide (Bot) was really cool and explained a lot of the nature, and history of the place, talking good English as well.
He is a fun guy and you feel that he loves what is he doing.
Just for information: it's not for everyone, you have not to fear high (dizziness), you can encounter some wild animals 🕷🕸
and the rock can be sharp.
I mean, you can made it without problems, but a false step ⚠️ (especially inside the cave) can put you in really danger, keep that in mind.
Guide helps you a lot, anyway 👍

🇮🇹 Abbiamo fatto questa escursione con la Greenland tour. Vengono a prenderti la mattina presto e in un'ora circa si arriva al punto di partenza. Prima si cammina nella giungla e attraversano fiumi e ruscelli poi ci si ferma per il pranzo, preparato dai ragazzi locali e servito su una foglia di banano.
Dopo si scala fino all'ingresso della grotta dalla quale poi ci si addentra fino in punti in cui si vede solo grazie alla luce del caschetto. Non descrivo altro per non rovinare sorprese 😁
La nostra guida, Bot, è stato davvero in gamba e ci ha spiegato molte curiosità e storie sul posto. Parla inglese piuttosto bene. Vedere come si muove in mezzo alla natura e raccontare le cose, da la certa sensazione che ami davvero quello che fa.
Per informazione: non è proprio per tutti, ci sono parti in cui è possibile scivolare e altre in cui chi ha vertigini potrebbe avere problemi a proseguire. Inoltre si incontrano anche animali selvatici, per cui non bisogna spaventarsi o comunque avere reazioni incontrollate.
Tutto il percorso è fattibile, ma specialmente dentro la grotta se non si fa molta attenzione, un passo falso potrebbe farvi fare una brutta caduta, non ci sono molti presidi di sicurezza.
Nel complesso è stata la miglior escursione avuta in Vietnam!😎

Bot was our tour guide. Absolutely amazing at his job! So nice and friendly, really made the tour that extra bit more special. Everyone who we encountered that works for Greenland travel were so helpful on our tour, made you feel safe and made sure you had fun. Loved every second of this day!

It was a great day. The landscape was beautiful. Thai and his friends took good care of us.The tour included a lot of nice activities.
