Flavor, that is what life is about. Mixing spices and spicing up our thinking makes us all the much better, and certainly more interesting. Neighborhoods steeped in their ethnicity allows the whole of us to step beyond our comfort zones and become appreciative voyeurs. And so was our experience this day.
Our False Creek Ferry deposited us into an area we neglected visiting in the past but this time, not going to miss this. And so it was a stop for us (happily so).
And this weekend the India Festival was in progress. Lots of Hare Hare music blaring out, free food booths for vegetarian enticements, booths offering insights into reincarnation, people dressed in their homeland garb (even the kids), and such cohesiveness! It does a soul good to see the community gather around and celebrate their individuality in unison.
The park is very close to another community park but this one is wide-open in the amount of space and the area is advertised as prime real estate for festivals and summer events.
So close and yet so far. We were voyeurs. Fortunate to have the opportunity to look from the outside in.

Un espacio al aire libre con áreas verdes y una panorámica de las construcciones modernas aledañas, aunque en el otoño de Vancouver el aire frío no es buen acompañante.

A terrific seawall with walking and bike lanes traverses both sides of False Creek. This park is at the extreme east end of the creek, and I always consider a good place to take a break Food and drink a block away to the east, a playground right there if you have children with you. It's a long seawall - stop and enjoy the views of a small part of the Pacific Ocean.

We spent an hour in this park before heading to nearby Pacific Central Station on our way out of Vancouver. Creekside Park is a pretty waterfront park next to Telus World of Science. It has a large children's playground as well as bike paths and pedestrian walkways. It has nice views of the city as well as snow capped mountains in the background.
