I love the Chinatown Storytelling Centre and so do all of my clients, who range from from student (field trips) to individuals and families to local team-building businesses and Destination Vancouver business referrals.
There is a wonderful gift shop with everything from amazing books to Chinese dishes to all sorts of Chinese keepsakes that a lot of us Chinese kids grew up with (White Rabbit candies, dumplings, Chinese dishes, etc.).
The Storytelling Centre is amazing with physical displays and a lot of interactive options. It is really a wonderful place to learn and be entertained with the impressive visual displays. The staff are always so nice, so helpful, and very knowledgeable. We are always treated warmly.
I am so grateful that Carol Lee and the Vancouver Chinatown Foundation created this space for education and honouring the history of previous generations that sacrificed for us to have a better future.

The Chinatown Storytelling Centre is small but action-packed. The photobooth and table with dining etiquette were highlights! I also enjoyed all of the brief, accessible, stories that accompanied every exhibit. I definitely learned a lot and it gave much-needed context to my tour around the neighbourhood and my appreciation of its history. Recommend!

We visited the storytelling center during our “Wok around Chinatown” tour with Bob Sun. The center is incredibly well put together to illustrate the extreme challenges surrounding Chinese immigration to Canada and the hard-fought and well-deserved accomplishments of the Chinese people who made Vancouver BC their home. Everyone at the center was very friendly. The highlight for us was the animated round table that presents the importance of food in Chinese life and the meaning attached to every aspect of every meal. We would definitely like to return to spend more time here.

A must visit for Vancouver Chinatown history. Immigrant stories are always worth hearing and the Chinese experience in Vancouver is especially interesting. The exhibits are well done and informative. We especially liked the small theater where we watched and listened to personal stories. Combine a museum visit with lunch in a nearby Chinese restaurant for the full experience.

An excellent exhibit showcasing the challenges that Chinese Canadians faced during their first years in Canada, as well as, the generations that followed. it's the first of it's kind in Chinatown, and definitely worth a visit.

Well documented, honest history of the wretched conditions faced by the Chinese people who came to Canada to help build a railway, only to be cheated and spurned by the governments of both BC and Canada.

What a wonderful little museum with interactive and exciting exhibits to learn more about the valuable contribution of Chinese immigrants to Canada's ascent to a leading economic power. The dinner table and the photo shop are very entertaining while the story of the heroism of Chinese Canadian soldiers and their fight for equal rights is both staggering and inspiring. A lot to learn and to discuss with the kids. You should not miss it when visiting Vancouver, also check out the gift shop with an amazing selection of extraordinary products.

The docent was fantastic. She embellished our experience with her enthusiasm and knowledge. We appreciated learning about the hardships endured by the Chinese, their hardwork and commitment but the tragedy of how they were exploited is very sad. Canada needs to acknowledge their contributions to building Canada.
