Absolutely enjoyed our time at Kanata Theatre to watch “Baskerville”. Hilarious show, great set, really amazing actors and the playhouse is very nice. You can’t beat $26/ticket either. Good to see the theatre offering a full bar service now — and some very delicious butter tarts that are locally made! Keep it up!!!

We attended the show called Operation Mincemeat. This was a weird show....could’nt understand most of the time. A good indication if a show is appreciated is at intermission how many seats are vacated as well as if there is standing ovation for the performers at the end of the show....with this show many people left at intermission and at the end of the show there was not one person in standing ovation.
The first show of the 2019-2020 season “A comedy of tenors” was most enjoyable; and at intermission nobody vacated their seats and at the end of the show there was a loud standing ovation.
We feel that future shows should have music and some lighthearted comedy rather than weird and boring content.

I'm embarrassed to say that it took 20 years of living in Kanata to finally visit the Kanata Theatre, Ron Maslin Playhouse. The play we saw was a Comedy of Tenors on September 21st, 2019.
First off, it's a beautiful venue, seating 350 in very comfortable seats with plenty of legroom. One nice feature is the rise in seating means you don't get someone's head in the way if they're tall. And the acoustics are impressive, considering the actors don't wear mics.
The lobby contains artwork from the Ottawa Civic Gallery. The playhouse is run by committed volunteers, and they do a spectacular job, from coatcheck, to ushers to food & snacks, to set design, construction and painting, to makeup, to costumes. The actors in the play we saw were excellent.
This playhouse has been Kanata's gem for an amazing 51 seasons. And yes, we've already bought tickets to the next play in November. And we plan to get seasons tickets in 2020-21.
Be sure to check this great venue out.

Met some friends for a play at this playhouse. It’s an older theatre but staff are very friendly and seats are comfortable. They have a great lineup of plays and the prices are very affordable. You need to check it out.

This was my first time seeing a play at the Ron Maslin Playhouse, We saw "Don't Dress For Dinner". The actors enthusiastically portrayed their roles. It was a light comedy, clever dialogue, good directorship of the play, good lighting and stage props. I have seen plays at The Shaw Theatre in Niagara -on-the-Lake, several theatres in London, and at the NAC and Centrepointe in Ottawa, and I was impressed at the professionalism of this production and the venue.
I would definitely encourage attending these plays at the theatre and supporting local theatre.

The Ron Maslin Playhouse is home to a VERY talented thespian group called Kanata Theatre. We drove five hours to see a Norm Foster comedy performed here, and we were DELIGHTED by the actors' rendition one of my favourite playwright's scripts. The performers had the audience's rapt attention.
The venue is very clean and comfortable. At intermission, I moved around to check visibility from several locations, and the seats all looked well-aligned. I believe that some patrons borrowed hearing-amplifiers.
Getting tickets on-line or by phone is simple too. Our tickets were there waiting for us.
Parking is plentiful and FREE. There are some handicapped spaces reserved near the entrance, but most drivers dropped off passengers at the door, which was courteously opened by two gentlemen doormen with capes and Russian-looking Astrakhan hats, an added touch of theatre drama.
I definitely intend to keep an eye on this group for up-coming shows!
(There is a Fairfield Inn hotel at the very nearby intersection; we intend to investigate this before our next visit to make our trip even easier.)

I have been several times. Each and every time was well worth the drive. Ample parking and great service makes it enjoyable.
The plays vary of course. Only once did I leave at the intermission ... I kept falling asleep and didn't want to bother the rest of the audience with my snores. It was a Russian classic that defied my attention.

Saw a very lively performance here was impressed with both the quality of the performers and the theatre itself.
Staff were very good at moving folks in and out of the theatre for the show with ease and the on site parking made getting to the show easy a I didn't have to go scrambling for parking money at the last minute!
