I went with my 5 years old. He did the small ones for children and both the 13 feet tall. It was very fun. He couldn't go on the higher ones but i'm sure a teenager can.

There is a big pay parking lot on the riverfront. We found street parking in or on the edge of old town.

Regrettably I haven't seen it yet myself. Plan to do so within next few days if I can obtain a ticket.

I think that fishing is not allowed... but I´m not sure. Although is named "Old Port", really is a big leisure centre, with one sports Port, and one commercial centre, restaurants... etc

We actually asked at The W Hotel in Montreal where we stayed & the Concierge told us how much snow they had & I personally would NOT recommend it. The wind was unbelievable & add snow as deep as we had explained, I'd say no. We are also from a warm place & NOWAY would we consider it.We were there for the 1st snow of the season .Have a good trip.

You are very close only about about a 5-10 min. cab ride. You could walk it or use a cab or Uber.

If you are arriving at Pont Jacques Cartier terminal, you are no longer in Old Montreal. You will be about 15 minutes east, near the Olympic Stadium. (Most likely the ship is being redirected there due to all the construction and restoration work being done right now in the Old Port.) Depending where you are staying and how much luggage you have, a car might be useful. There aren't any car rental offices within walking distance of that pier, as far as I know. They are all situated quite a bit further away on Sherbrooke Street East and other sketchy parts of the neighborhood. However, pick your favorite rental car company and when you call or book online, make sure to specify that you need to be picked up at Jacques Cartier Pier. Most of them do this with no charge. I absolutely recommend walking and taking the metro and buses once you're in the downtown core or Old Montreal area, But from where you're landing, a car would probably be your best bet. The closest metro (Pie-IX) is quite a trek away from the pier, and if you have a lot of luggage it's going to be Hell on Wheels for you!
