A bit interesting yet a complete rip-off for the money - £36 for family ticket (and not far off twice what it says on their website - it's £10 per adult not £6.50) to visit essentially two small rooms set up idk about 30 years ago, where several of the laminated labels had been 'accidentally' stuck in more than one place meaning that the information that could be gleaned was far reduced from what there was space for). It was a bit interesting and I came out knowing a bit more than I went in knowing... but only about 30 minutes later and that was us trying to eke out a tiny bit of value for money.

So dissapointing.

Expensive and tiny. Says on the web site you can buy stuff there but you cannot.

We planned on being there for a bit as my daughter is learning Mandarin but unless you sat and watched the video the whole experience was over in 25 mins.

We attempted to learn more, our teen asking how the artifacts got there etc and the lady on the desk literally said 'sorry I have no idea I am only here to sell the tickets',

There was also a teddybear museum upstairs that you had to pay seperately for -we didn't bother as the 'gift shop' was full of them and some Chinese postcards

The museum consists of two tiny rooms, with replicas of the warriors, some pottery and a video film. It takes no more than 20 mins for the experience. Very poor value for money at £10 per adult. This did not include entrance to the teddy bear museum upstairs..

Well it is what it is, a very small museum with replica figures. But if you can't get to see the real things then go along. There's also an informative video you can watch, and a teddy bear museum upstairs

We were really excited about having a chance to see some of the terracotta warriors and planned on spending a good chunk of time there. Imagine our shock and utter disappointment when we paid £16 for the 2 of us with a guide book only to go into a room that was not any bigger than the downstairs of an average house. Time spent less than 10 minutes, I suppose we could have sat and watched the 1/2 hour movie, but we wanted to see actual exhibits. Our advise unless you have a huge pocket of money spend your money on something more worthwhile.

Was quite excited when I saw this museum was nearby to where we are staying on a few days holiday. I have always been interested in the original story of the discovery. This museum was very dull and dated. The items on display are not in the main actually from China. They have been replicated to show what the actual items would look like. I would recommend you save your money and watch a descent video on YouTube on the subject.

Me and my partner brought the golden pass and was the main reason for this visit and it was in the same building as the teddy bear museum. It had lots of information and a video to watch the whole story line of the warriors. It had full life sized replicates as well as half size ones too.

This is one of those things that you have to be fascinated about in order to enjoy it. Kids would probably find it incredibly boring especially if the parent isn’t prepared to explain this incredible find.
The film was interesting to watch, it explained what the army was built for and why. The replicas were very good, and very lifelike, so much so I found one section a bit too creepy and had to leave, but that’s probably just me.
If your interested go, if you’ve got kids, they would probably appreciate giving it a miss

Seeing the terracotta warriors was interesting yet not as impressive as I'd hoped. Not quite sure my 6 yr old appreciated it as much as the Tutenkhamen exhibition also in Dorchester .

On a rainy day and being on a family holiday in Dorset I was looking for something to do with my 6 and 4 year olds. When looking online at tickets for this museum an advert sprang up for Gold Saver tickets, where entry could be gained at 5 museums in Dorchester for the price of 2. With another rainy day expected 2 days later I thought a family ticket for £59 would be a bargain and would help entertain us for the two days. WRONG.

I really wish I’d looked at these reviews first. There was very limited amounts to see and do. The information is really text heavy which means my little ones with limited reading skills struggled, particularly with the activity sheets. They didn’t really try to make it interactive unlike the dinosaur museum, which is why this only has 1 star in my view.

As someone really interested in ancient oriental culture I really struggled to justify spending £9 for myself, let alone paying for the kids to go in.

Sadly rather than a couple of days of entertainment with the Gold Saver ticket we spent 4 hours doing all ‘5’ museums, which really is 3 museums with 2 being split across 2 floors in the same building.
What I thought would be good value was undermined further by feeling cheated around age entrance price differences. My 4 year old would have gone in free of charge for a couple of the venues, and given we were really only interested in the dinosaur museum and possibly the Egyptian one (which was even worse value for money and dangerously over crowded) meant we actually spent more money than we would have going in separately.

Avoid this and go have a meal out instead.
