Good by parts.
The whole way on land beaten with huge craters - nothing advisable to low cars! Even for high cars advisable quite careful in driving.
Parking with plenty of space after a short walk we reached Cromeleque.
Sealed with signals explaining a supposed intervention to stabilize the stones.
Even if it is a place that deserves to be known and visited... it is a pity the lack of respect of the competent entities and visitors. If on the one hand the accesses, the lack of interactivity and interpretation of the place are practically nonexistent, such as the importance of such a monument to be your luck without vigilance and with an intervention God knows when it started and ended ....where even explained the why of the sealing (I agree that too far) the sealing is exceeded for another selfie.
It is worth visiting and it is painful how we treat our history and visitors (many of them foreign).

By far the worst access I've ever crossed, highly dangerous for a car and too demanding to walk. Additionally, there are warnings indicating that the site will be banned from September 4, however, after crossing the 4 KMS of bad access, the site is even closed before the indicated date. Shameful management and exploitation of a place that should be of public interest.

It's not worth it. Pothole road that is horrible and more if you go with a child in the car.
And everything to get to, and have it fenced and see the 4 stones in the front row. They have a mound for you to see, but I don't know anything.
It's not worth it. De Evora is 35 minutes but the country road takes 15 minutes because of how bad it is
I don't recommend it.

We stopped at the interpretation center, they told us how to get there. A few kms, 27 minutes to travel. Full of potholes to avoid, amazing. And the surprise is that it is fenced. You cannot walk through the cromlech. Disappointment.
There is an area to park and walk a few meters. They have made a mound to see everything from above. But....

A return to the distant past......
For anyone interested in prehistory, history or just curious, it is an excellent experience to make this visit.
Take advantage and also pay a visit to the Almendres menhir, it is on the way to the cromlech.
Negative point, the cromlech, is fenced and you can only partially appreciate it through the fence, a shame....Due to works, which have been going on for over a year.... Portugal at its best!! !!
Pay attention to the road, as it is dirt and has lots of holes, which is excellent for breaking your car's suspension if you don't drive very slowly!!! 🤣
The ideal and even advisable is to walk 😊 and it is worth the walk of around 10 km (round trip).
Before you go, stroll through the interpretive center for useful information.

We had not visited a stone circle in our previous travels. It was interesting to learn that this is the largest megalithic circle in Europe and is even older than Stone Henge! There is now a fence that prevents you from getting close to the stones-apparently some do have engravings on them but we were not able to see these.
The road to the stones has several cork trees and it is interesting to see the trees that have had their lower cork bark removed. Apparently, a cork tree can keep producing cork for up to 100 years.

The star given has nothing to do with the monument, but rather with access and the fact that it is closed to visitors. The worst thing is the access via a dirt "road" that looks like a lunar landscape with so many craters, unacceptable. Never coming back.

The historical interest is fabulous, 7000 years of history is fantastic.
The access is very bad, how is it possible for those entitled to not pay attention to the status of this access. At the site they ask not to touch the stones so as not to damage them, I take the opportunity to ask that the access points be improved so that visitors' cars are not damaged.
Unforgiven

We drove 3km along a dirt road full of holes to find the fenced space and had to observe the menhirs in the distance.
They should have had this information at the beginning of the journey to avoid such an unpleasant surprise. The route is not recommended for low cars, as it is in poor condition. Only for jeeps.

Well preserved and protected site. Isolated and away from housing, to maintain its millennial appearance. The path is dirt but cars drive there.

Anybody knows when it is "open" again. I read that it is restaurated at the time.
