What a beautiful venue for our wedding. It was absolutely perfect. All our guests complimented the venue and how stunning it was. The flowers were all out in bloom. Heather and Jessica were amazing, a credit to the owner...and the service of all the other staff was excellent. We can't recommend this venue highly enough. If you want a beautiful day and lovely photos then this venue is the one to choose. We will be coming back for anniversaries and just to reminisce for coffee and cake. Thank you for the most magical day of our lives 🤍🤍🤍

Our trip was so disappointing! As a local who pops in from time to time, I really used to enjoy coming here. I got some coffee, ( bitter in taste) , wanted to get a scone but they looked old and unappetizing. I ordered mushrooms on toast and received about three small chopped mushrooms and some toast. I complained and got the mushrooms on toast taken off the bill. It looked like the manager was used to doing this. I won’t be returning

The gardens were lovely and the food was spot on and a great choice of menu.
Mom fell ill during our visit and the staff couldn’t be more kind and helpful.
Great place to spend an afternoon.

I enjoy a walk around the grassed area. Always say hi too the horse. My dog loves it there. My friend and I will go in for a coffee and cake occasionally,we don't have time to go in every visit. The ladies always lovely, and my dog loves his bowl of warm milk. I highly recommend a visit. The gardens we're a bit bare, only because it was April, but the views are calming to the mind when you sit a while. Very special place for me.

I loved our experience here at Abbeywood. I booked an afternoon tea for a friends Birthday pressie and it was the perfect choice.
We thoroughly enjoyed our food, drinks all served by helpful staff. We spent time in the beautiful gardens and the gift and flower shop. We were inspired by the lady running the shop who has a true gift with flowers..truly inspirational.

After much research, we decided to have our wedding here. It easily entices you in with the gardens, house and the setting ticks many popular requirements that you would look for in a wedding setting. Their downside is the people who run it. The service we received on the day was abysmal - and I am saddened to say that when I look back at our wedding day, the one thing that ruined it for us was the degree of unprofessionalism on the day - they were rude, inflexible and what was promised was simply not delivered, bringing so much unnecessary stress to us on the day. The wedding coordinator has such a bad attitude, you'd think that you were asking them to do you a favour after paying them £££! On the day, the wedding coordinator was already making rude comments to us - the bridesmaids arrived first and when they said the bride is on her way, this was met by a 'well I should think so' comment. The venue was quick to scoop up several weddings during this peak time - one wedding for every day of the week - which is fine, if you can acutally deliver with professionalism. The rooms we needed to get ready in simply were not ready. Why? because the wedding party from the night before simply hadn't checked out and even after it was check out time, the rooms were not ready until 2-3 hours later - by that time everything was behind schedule, no one had a dedicated space to put our things and the wedding coordinator was nowhere to be seen. The food we ordered when we were getting ready for both the bride and groom simply was not delivered to the groom's party meaning they had nothing to eat until dinner in the evening - we paid for this as well. As we were behind schedule, we kept having to deal with the wedding coordinator's huffs, puffs and attitiude throughout the whole day. Each time we stopped to take photos, we got an earful - correction - we witnessed several times the wedding coordinator actually having a go at the photographer saying we don't have time to take photos. Constantly. How unprofessional is that? We purposely arranged a visit prior to the wedding day to revise our florist requirements and on the day, the flowers were prepared in accordance with our original spec - making a wasted trip and members of our wedding party without what we ordered and its very obvious from the photos. For the dinner, we had guests approach us during the final course, so naturally we stepped away from our table during dessert. By the time we came back, the dessert was gone (understandably, they need to clear plates) but at the very least, put it to one side for us. It wasn't even offered. We missed the dessert. We had asked for tea to put out for us during the dinner and not one person asked us about this and mentioned this to us. By the end of the evening, the wedding coordinator was very visibly showing the dissatisfaction at the change of schedule as we were running behind. The wedding coordinator was rude to the bridal party and really held nothing back and actually by the end of the night, they were nowhere to be seen. It really ruined the day for us and to think we spent so much money with them at such an inflexible venue. If I knew it was like that, I would have chosen to spent my thousands elsewhere. Take my advice, don't have your wedding here. The owner was also rude to us in several encounters we had with them. The team need training on what good customer service looks like. They also shouldn't take on so much if they can't handle it.

Dear Anonymous,
I am sorry but this is not my recollection of events as it was relayed to me by my staff.
I personally did not have much dealing with you and was certain never rude, in fact just the opposite.
Future customers need only look at the very good reviews we receive and I can assure you there are many more who do not post reviews, but send emails and cards, to know that we achieve high levels of satisfaction.
This review does does not give a proper reflection of how we coped doing the best we could, for customers that unfortunately did not take advice.

Superbly set out garden. Something to see at every turn. Great we could take our dog in with us. plenty of seats where you can view the gardens from different view points. Lots of specimen grasses wave in the breeze along with cosmos and verbena bonariensis to name but a few.

Visited with my elderly Mum for a pre-op treat (but couldnt class this visit as family without kids, that needs sorting Tripadvisor) on our way to an overnight stay in Cheshire.
Beautiful, hidden gem of a garden that is accessed through the busy cafe.
Took advantage of the Gardener's World two for one offer and so glad we did.
Lovely herbaceous borders, together with a few other garden 'rooms'. It's not huge, but big enough for us for a couple of hours.
Ignore the reviews of a sulky waitress, we were served by the lovely Holly for both our admission and for a pot of tea after, and she couldn't have been more lovely. She's a keeper Abbeywood Estate! Xx

These gardens are accessed through the cafe and are both sizeable and extremely well planted. Wonderful drifts of summer herbaceous/grasses with views out to the local hills.

Think we got the same waitress as Zena. Her warm greeting consisted of a sulky "How many?" Just pointed out a table to us so we sat down and she came back and took our order. Again very little customer service other than that but at least our food would soon be on our way or so we thought!! After 30 minutes no sign of anything and other people arriving after us had had their food so we asked another waitress if she knew how long it would be. The original waitress came to us and said the kitchen didn't seem to have received our check and could we remind her of what we had ordered and off she went into the kitchen. We took this as her probably meaning she'd not put it through but still hopeful that she was going to reappear with it. She did reappear but only to continue to serve other people. So with no update we weren't sure if we were still waiting for food from when we first ordered it or from 5 minutes ago! The food arrived about 10 minutes later delivered by a nice waitress who apologised for the delay.
We finished the sandwich which was very nice and after quite a while we had to grab our original waitress for the bill which she brought back with the card machine and apart from carrying out the transaction she didn't exchange any conversation at all. No sorry, thanks for coming, enjoy the rest of your day.
I got the impression from the way she was dressed differently from the rest of the staff that she was in charge. The name on the bill was Sally and I can only assume that was her. We agreed that if Sally was what front of house here looked like goodness help you if she's running your wedding. This is the first and last time we will visit
