The gardens have an interesting history. There is a booklet available to purchase which explains how the hall, garden and grounds were developed but importantly it also contains a map with a suggested route as navigation around the site to ensure all the different locations are seen is quite tricky. There is a lovely, wooded area, a cliff walk, rock garden and formal long borders close to the hall. The rock garden with its natural landscape is one of the best we have seen and there is great vista across the valley from seating on the front terrace.

We visited the gardens and found it to be a nice peaceful experience. The gardens are very well kept with clearly marked walks. It’s not the cheapest attraction but it was worth it.

The drive to Parcevall Hall was one of the most stunning of my life. The Yorkshire Dales are... I can't even explain how beautiful.
We arrived at Parcevall just as they were about to close, simply for lack of visitors. I don't know how this place isn't overrun; it's absolute perfection. The tiered gardens are immaculate, the flowers just bursting, the house is a dream and the views are unmatched. I could have sat on a bench and just stared for hours.
Right near by is the fantastic Craven Arms, a pub that will out-pub any pub in England. Really. I shouldn't even write this. It should be a special secret.

Stumbled upon this place when looking for somewhere to visit not too far from our holiday hotel. Directions are clear and information given when you pay, £8 for seniors which is I thought was reasonable, car park is large, so easy parking. The uncultured gardens along side the river, feature a variety of wild flowers, shrubs, particularly loved the large azaleas and peonies. It’s only a little bit steep in parts but maybe somewhat tricky for those with mobility difficulties. Guided by the map we found our way easily. The highlight was the garden at the top, it houses a delightful water feature surrounded by beautiful planting and the view, just stunning. There are plenty of seats too, we lingered there a while, it’s a lovely place to distress and gather your thoughts. Looked in the hide (a tiny little summer house) not much bird life but the feeders were empty. Had a snack from the little tea room at the bottom of the hill after our walk, very nice and the seating outside is a delight, drank our cuppas watching the birds and sheep, accompanied by the sound of the mums calling their lambs, very soothing, it certainly beats Costas! Would not hesitate to go there again, it’s a little piece of heaven, just loved it!

A glorious hidden gem, we loved the views, the informal woodland planting and the beautiful formal gardens. Such a tranquil landscape, a step back in time. Friendly staff, happy to talk about the flora and fauna.

This was a very lucky "leaflet in the holiday cottage" find. It turned out to be probably my favourite garden of the holiday.
You go up a fairly steep woodland walk to the top, past a lovely waterfall & (at this time of year) spectacular rhododendrons and fields of bluebells. Once at the top you return via the more formal gardens of the hall.
Amazing views across the valley too.
You must try the small cafe - excellent coffee & cake. And, do buy some of the brownies, they are superb.
Highly recommended.

This has been on my list for a while and managed to visit with my Historic Houses membership. The parking and admission process was very easy and I paid the extra £2 for a guidebook and map but constantly had the feeling wandering around that I was invading people’s gardens by accident and wasn’t always sure if I could go through a gate or not. The views are beautiful though and the woods were very peaceful. Enjoyed seeing a deer.

Off the beaten track but very peaceful and beautiful gardens any time of the year. Love walking round here and enjoying the serene atmosphere. The person on the gate was very helpful and suggested other walks nearby. Have visited in mid summer and later in the year and the garden is always gorgeous with lovely plants and flowers to look at. Love the rock garden and the waterfall. Wish we lived nearer to visit more often

What a lovely peaceful and well maintained place. We were there on a dull rainy afternoon but still had a wonderful time and were very impressed by the variety of habitats one can see and the views. The woodland walk is really lovely and the formal gardens are extremely well maintained. This is a very 'out of the way' garden but in glorious setting and well worth detouring from the main road to find.

I, can you tell me where The Strid tearoom is please. Thanks for your time.
Rédigé le 23 août 2018
The Strid itself is near Bolton Abbey. And there is a tearooms/cafe there between them if I remember correctly. Not sure if that is what you are referring too.
There is a little cafe at Parcevall Hall.

Are the gardens suitable to push a pushchair around?
Rédigé le 3 juin 2018
Hi, sorry for the delay in replying.
A push chair can be pushed round quite easily in places, however, there are also parts of the grounds that could be difficult.

Hello
Can you tour the Hall as well?
Rédigé le 25 mai 2017
Hi, no unfortunately it is only the gardens that you can tour.

Can anyone tell us how accessible the gardens are please for elderly people?
Rédigé le 18 décembre 2016
Good paths, but elevated areas, so some uneven walking involved.
Rédigé le 26 décembre 2016
Please can someone tell me how much it's to go in?
Thanks
