Very cosy Bar in winter. Excellent bar in summer with views out to River Shannon. Friendly family run pub. Can’t go wrong with a trip to Carthys

Stumbled upon this bar while staying in Leitrim town. The owner Dave is also the bartender and he was very welcoming! There is a pool table and a darts board! He also let's you play your own music through the chrome cast onto the bars speaker system! We ended up coming here both nights of our stay and really enjoyed ourselves! The locals are all very friendly! Thanks Dave ! :-))

Nice bar. We were there on a Thursday night so it was quiet enough. There is a pool table which was busy.

I was staying in Leitrim for a week and visited this bar 3 or 4 times whilst I was there.
The decor in the bar was interesting and impressive, it made for a really cosy and inviting atmosphere. The bar varied between being busy and almost dead on the nights we visited, but nevertheless the bar staff and the locals were always willing to have a friendly chat so we didn't mind when it was quiet.
On one of the busier nights there was an Irish band playing and people singing which we loved, and on the quieter nights there is a jukebox too. I would recommend the gin!

This large bar is great for watching sports with large screens all round. For a large bar it is nice and warm and inviting. There is a pool table that does not interfere with the drinkers a large outdoor smoking area. They also have a great outdoor covered BBQ for party occasions. Best of all a great pint of Guinness.

Great place for a drink and a typical Irish bar well kept bar close to the river so plenty going on, A must visit for a great night out.

Stopped twice while cruising the nearby Shannon-Erne waterway. Nice, clean, with friendly locals. Reasonably priced beers by Irish standards and the odd interesting one (i.e. not from the Guiness stable, though they have them as well). They don't do food as such but have a large BBQ set-up outside at the back. Recommended.

we arrived at carthys bar at 4pm and after a short discussion with david he agreed to put on a bbq for us at 6pm, this he did.and the food was beautiful,afterwards david had arranged music in the pub and we had a great night,all of the boaters agreed it was the highlight of our trip on the Shannon, thank you lock 17.

Have been here a couple of times and it's lovely for a few pints of an evening, staff are very friendly, well worth the visit

We arrived into this bar nestled on the banks of the Canal and didn't know what to expect . We were greeted by what we now know was the owner. Dave. Rinks wee served promptly and an interest was taken in what we were doing in leitrim and if we needed any advice to ask. Football was on the TV. Large smoking area and a pool table and dart board. You can see why this had a great write up by Sundays world pub spy proudly framed on the wall. We will be back for the owners friendliness, location and atmosphere.
