This is an important family institution of the Tang clan in the Ping Shan area. An extension of the ancestral hall nearby, Yu Kiu Ancestral Hall is a rare product of traditional Cantonese architecture. It seems that local villagers have arbitrarily closed the place.

鄧氏宗祠の隣にある。こちらも現在は外観のみの公開。
通りを道に沿って進むと、内部が少しだけ塀の隙間から見えた。屋根なども、正面より脇側からの方がよく見えた。

The Yu Kui Ancestral Hall is stop 6 on the Ping Shan Heritage Trail in the Yuen Long District. It is located just beside the Tang Ancestral Hall (stop 7) along the trail. It is Declared Monument (2001) in Hong Kong and is one of the more interesting places to visit along the trail. Opening hours are from 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm daily.
Historically, this building was originally constructed in the early 16th century. Beyond being an ancestral hall, it housed the Tat Tak School between 1931 to 1961 as well. Architecturally, the Yu Kui Ancestral Hall is very similar to the much older Tang Ancestral Hall just next door. Together, given their symmetry and position, they appear to be twin study halls.
What you will find is a traditional grey brick facade with column fronted entrance and decorative brackets. The building is a three hall structure with two open inner courtyards, one with a red sandstone pathway. Within, you will see a replica Silk Birthday Hanging with information panel. The original artefact is kept at the Hong Kong Museum of History. There is an impressive ancestral altar in the back Middle Hall and you will find panel information about this heritage attraction and the Heritage Trail in general.
In all, the Yu Kui Ancestral Hall is a nice attraction that can be conveniently visited in 10 minutes on its own. Allow 20 minutes for your combined visit with the Tang Ancestral Hall next door.

These two halls are almost identical, separated by walls only.
Interesting architecture and decorations - well worth a visit.

Yu Kiu Ancestral Hall is one of the heritage attractions that can be seen as part of the Ping Shan Heritage Trail in Yuen Long. This is a 16th century building located next to Tang Ancestral Hall. It is in the middle of the trail and is convenient to find and explore. Opening Hours are 9-1pm & 2-5pm daily.
The building includes three main halls with two inner courtyards, it is identical to the Tang Ancestral Hall next door. The exterior facade is grey brick and typical of other heritage buildings in the area, featuring symmetric entrance, basic columns and subtle roof and ridge motif ornamentation. The interior is simple and well-maintained.
You can enter the first two halls and courtyard. The inner hall includes a shrine and information panels for those interested in learning more about this and other attractions along the Heritage Trail. There is a replica of a historic tapestry that once hung in the centre hall. To see the original, you need to visit the Hong Kong Museum of History in Hung Hum.
In the end, this is another nice building to see if you intend to visit Yuen Long to explore the Ping Shan Heritage Trail in Hong Kong. Allow 10-20 minutes to explore both the Yu Kiu and Tang Ancestral Halls.

The Yu Kiu Ancestral Hall is closed to The Tang Ancestral Hall by situated south of The Tang Ancestral Hall. It meanns The Tang Ancestral is the left and The Yu Kiu Ancestral is the right.
Naming of the building comes from two 11th generation brothers of The Tang Clan who are Tang Sai-yin, or Yu-sing and Tang Sai-chiu or Kiu-lum. It was constructed in the early 16th century as ancestor worship hall. Meanwhile, it is a place to educate children of the family. Building space is divided into three halls and two exterior decking the halls like a family bucket. The last major renovation took place during in the Emperor Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty (1875-1908), by maintaining the structure and function of the original. There is the engraved characters on the stone tablet above the main entrance. However, It was occupied by a primary School from 1931 to 1961.
Yu Kiu Ancestral Hall and Tang Ancestral Hall declared monuments on December 14, 2001.
