We are just back from our 3 day private tour with Aldven in Kyoto. Already before the tour started, Aldven had undertaken a lot of efforts to tailormade the tour to our needs / wishes. Aldven even provided support which had nothing directly do to with the tour e.g. information on hotels, sumo, tea ceremony. The tour in Kyoto as such was great, informative and due to the private nature of our tour very relaxed.

Hello Mr Herb! I'm so happy to hear you and your wife enjoyed your time with Mari in Kyoto! Especially that your tour felt relaxed and set at a good pace - slow is best when it comes to Kyoto. I hope you had a fantastic time on your travels to the other parts of Japan and a safe and comfortable trip back to Germany! I'll be sure to forward your review to Mari; we're very grateful that you took the time to share your experience with us. All the best! Rebecca Aldven Japan Operations Manager

I had the tour 30th November.
The tour was organized in few days, so I had rather low expectations.

I gave my schedules prior to the tour so they can plan accordingly.
The tour guide reviewed my tour and gave me some advice which was very helpful for a 1st timer to Kyoto.

The tour was very satisfied, the guide knows quite a lot about the places as well the culture and history of Japan.

I recommend the tour since they try to offer you an unique experiences.

Hi there Sebin! I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed your tour and your time in Kyoto. It was a great pleasure to tour with someone who had such specific interests in and motivation to learn about Kyoto. I was also very glad for your input on the similarities and contrasts of Japanese and South Korean culture - so the tour was equally eye-opening for me! I wish you safe travels on your next overseas visits - and hope the saké you found went down well! All the best to you, Rebecca

I chose the North Tour to explore Kurama and Kibune, amazing locations often ignored by foreign tourists.
The view was breathtaking and the itinerary Rebecka chose from Kurama temple to Kibune temple is simply perfect to appreciate the momijis at their peak.

Rebecka, who is not only an amazing guide, but also a skilled photographer, suggested me where to take the best pictures, and led me into hidden corners I would otherwise have missed.

I learned so much during this tour, and she replied to every curiosity I had. It was the most fulfilling experience I had during my stay in Kyoto!

What's more, she suggested me a couple of places to eat in Kyoto, and even made reservations for me, and made sure everything went smoothly.

I really couldn't recommend her more. If you plan to visit Kyoto and want to have an amazing time, take a look at their tours, and you won't be disappointed!

Hi Rossana! Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review for us. I'm hugely glad that you enjoyed the North tour! The weather was most definitely on our side and you chose the best time of year to visit. I'm also happy to hear that your culinary experiences in Kyoto went well - I hope Isoya gets honourable mention in your upcoming Japan food Journal! Best of luck as you move on with your medical training back home - Kyoto is awaiting your return! All the best and safest of travels, Rebecca Aldven Tours & Adventures

I took the 'North' tour which started from Kurama and led to Kibune.

Kurama-dera from where we started is a beautiful shrine and a good way to begin the tour. After exploring it we started the hike which had some beautiful sights along the way. We ended in Kibune-Jinja from where the view was just breathtaking !

Besides the main points of interest I was also shown hidden away gems that I would've definitely missed out on had I not been on this tour.

Right from the start I was welcomed by the guide - Becka, who always made sure the atmosphere was pleasant and easy going. She was knowledgable and talked about the history and interesting facts of the places we visited/things we saw with great confidence.

I couldn't be more happy with the tour and all the aspects of it. It was definitely an exciting, fun and educating experience. I strongly recommend Aldven Tours & Adventures to anyone looking for a great tour led by an amazing guide.

Hi Angela! Thank you kindly for your review - I'm so glad you enjoyed your North tour! It really is one of Kyoto's hidden gems and I'm glad it lived up to expectations. It's never a bad idea to take a break from the city and enjoy those secluded mountain temples. Here's hoping you can visit Japan again before long to discover more. Safe travels! - Becka
