Nice setting and homey comfortable tasting room. Huge fireplace felt great.
Large grounds alot of seating. They host weddings also. Red wines were yummy.
We found you while driving through VA. on our vacation.

We had a lovely afternoon at Veritas.

We were just passing by after visiting the Grand Caverns and were very surprised by the lovely atmosphere, good music, and delicious snacks while savoring the wine. We ordered a sandwich and the cheese platter and were very pleased with the portion size.

We stayed inside by the cracking fire, nice and cozy, but they also have lovely igloo-type set outside, where you may enjoy the sunset either with your love one, or family and friends. We may try that one next time.

It was simply lovely! We plan to return to Grand Caverns soon and will definitely stop at Veritas again.

We sat inside by the crackling fire and enjoyed really good wines. A very nice atmosphere. One of our favorite stops on our Monticello wine trail!

Wine wasn’t bad. Nothing special. No personal touch. Very pretty and beautiful. Good view. Okay service

First off we had our wedding reception here back in 2007 and it couldn’t have gone better. Therefore, Veritas will always be a special place for us and is always our first stop when in the area.

First off what a beautiful place and it is well worth the trip for all!! We sat there for a couple hours including lunch enjoying the wonderful scenery. For lunch we had the cheese plate as well as a flatbread & grilled cheese. Everything was great!

We went on a Monday so while we thought it wouldn’t be crowded we went ahead and reserved an area with a picnic table & fire pit. It was more crowded than we expected so we are glad we booked this which included table service. The server was very friendly & attentive and if you want to be here a couple hours I’d highly recommend this route.

The only disappointment was the wine which was average at best. Due to COVID it wasn’t the normal wine tasting at the bar and they only had 1 tasting available which was $15. We knew up front from the selections that 2 of the 4 wines we had zero interest in but tried them anyways. It would have been much better if we could have picked 4 wines we wanted to try. Honestly we didn’t care for any of the tasting selections. After the tasting we ended up getting a bottle of petit verdot (one of their reserve selections not on the tasting). It was significantly better than the tasting wines but not as good as lots of other wines we tried in the area.

We will continue coming here in the future.

We’ve been to vineyards in the US and Europe, and we love an authentic experience within the vines. We also know more than a thing or two about wine and service. This was our worst experience in 7 years. Poor service, judgmental & uncommunicative young people, and sectioned off areas to ensure no one talks about their love of the wine. Extraordinarily disappointed despite the beautiful rolling vines across the hills. Such potential but their attitude makes the grapes quite sour.

I'm sorry to hear that you had an unpleasant time. I assure you that we are working to build staff capacity and provide ongoing training to address service concerns. I hope that you give us another chance and we are able to seat you in a less private area allowing you to have those fun conversations. While those private picnic areas are appreciated by guests seeking social distancing and separation from other groups, it is entirely understood that may not be the experience all are looking for. Thank you for the feedback.

We visited on a Tuesday with a reservation and as we drove down from Maryland we arrived about 45 minutes early. No worries though as we were seated on their patio right away. They also had picnic tables just off the patio with fire pits which would be nice. If this had been a weekend I don’t imagine we would been so fortunate. We shared a flight along with a glass of their Cabernet Franc. We also ordered their cheese board along with the vege flat bread. Everything was quite good. We both enjoyed the flight which consisted of a viognier, a rose, a merlot and their red star, which is a blend. We both enjoyed their wines but our favorites were definitely the viognier and the red star. We also enjoyed the cab franc. These wines went very well with the cheese plate as there was a manchego, Gouda and a blue cheese. We finished our tasting off with another glass of the red star with their chocolate chip cookies.

As we enjoyed our wine and food tasting it was very pleasant seeing the surrounding countryside with the vines all over.

Really the only thing that was lacking was a nice coffee or latte at the end. Sadly they do not offer any coffee selections.

Overall a very nice visit to this winery.

The grounds are beautiful, the wine tasting enjoyable, but the staff was not welcoming at all. Their lack of friendliness unfortunately put a damper on the whole experience. There are lots of vineyards to choose from in the area with people who’d be genuinely glad to see you.

I have never left a Tripadvisor review despite traveling throughout Western Europe, Iceland, Equador, Thailand and extensively in the U.S., but I was so outraged by the experience at Veritas I had to have my voice heard. I attended a Friday night wedding there on 9/3/2021 and while the setting was lovely, the dinner and cocktail hour were absolutely the worst I have ever, ever experienced. Hors-d'oeuvre service was non-existent, with one waitress serving more than 100 guests and the fancy bits they put out were tiny and unsatisfying. The bride's mother, who is not aggressive nor a complainer, finally shamed them to putting out blocks of cheese with small slices of salami and spiced prosciutto. These were nothing special, strictly deli counter stuff. It got worse from there, The salads came out with a very good potato leek soup with bacon, but there was no option for the people who ordered the vegetarian gnocchi. Then ... over an hour lapsed before dinner was served. The scallops were rubbery and cold, the filter mignon portions were flat like hamburgers and cold, and the aforementioned gnocchi was simply bizarre, dolloped around giant root or mushroom. It was truly a disaster. Coffee was never served. The staff was so disorganized, the service and timing of the meal so haphazard, I wondered if Veritas had ever done a wedding before. In other reviews I keep seeing the word "classy." It is not. It is pretentious. If it were "classy" it would apologize to the bride's parents and offer them a substantial refund. BTW, all of this was exacerbated by the fact the Veritas refused to refund a deposit despite two cancelations for COVID, knowing the couple in the meantime had relocated to Portland. Disgusting enough. But to then serve up a disaster is simply shameful.

We opted for the mixed self guided tasting. They have a beautiful lodge-like tasting room, but we opted to take advantage of the outdoor seating and take in the beautiful views. The wines were all excellent. They also offer a light menu with sandwiches and flatbreads so we had lunch here too. Everything was very good. The staff were all polite and very helpful. Glasses were included with the tasting to take home.
