Gave this to my husband for Fathers Day a few years ago and it was one of best experiences of his life and as an Army helicopter pilot used to speed he said this was Intense. Would do it again! Had a Groupon.

I did this and would love to do it again. It’s faster than you think. My speed was 172 mph! Those big turns get a lot smaller when you are going that fast. Pay the price and do this. It’s a great bucket list item to check off.

My wife bought a $ 399 6 lap drive for my birthday for Talledega last fall.. It was cancelled twice due to "weather" so they gave me a coupon good till December 2016. Now the new "NASCAR" company that bought out the Dale Jarrett racing adventure will not honor the certificate nor will they forward information so I can get my money back!! BAD BUSINESS !! BEWARE!!!!!!!

I bought 2 certificates for 10 lap drives for my sons for Christmas (total of $795). When I called to schedule, I was told they had gone out of business and Nascar Racing Experience had purchased their assets. Same phone number. Same location. Just stole my money.

Talladega Speedway. Great fun. My husband, son, daughter and son-in- law did the racing adventure while I just did the drive along. So much fun they wanted to go an additional round. The adventure lets you drive yourself.

I was a customer of Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure for over nine years and attended nine sessions. I was proud of six or seven racing top speed certificates, all stating per Mr. Jarrett's own signature on the certificate, that I went over 180 miles per hour, even 185 miles per hour at one session in 2011. They were all at Talladega Speedway. Their chief operating officer in August of this year quit, and emailed me that the speed certificates were bogus and off by more than 13 miles per hour. They inflate the speeds to get more business from competitors such s Richard Petty's school. She also told me the tires, some as old as 10 years were unsafe and at top speeds, a blown tire can cause a fatality(ies). Jarrett's president, Tim Shannon said my speeds were all legitimate as stated, but Dale Jarrett called me earlier this week and said he was no longer associated with the school, and that he signed blank certificates, not knowing what speeds Shannon and his track manager were inserting. An absentee landlord in my estimation. He did tell me there was no way I could go 180 miles plus in any of the school's cars, and Tim Shannon approved inserting these high speeds to obviously attract business. I have appealed to Mr. Jarrett at NBS Sports where he does NASCAR commentary to refund only10% of my fees, but Jarrett and Tim Shannon both said they would not. Jarrett pleads ignorance as he states he did not know what Shannon was doing with the certificates, but admits he left the signed certificates blank. This is fraud. I hope someone at the North Carolina's A.G. department reads this and investigates this company and its owners including Mr. Dale Jarrett.

My husband is 80 years old and sight impaired. He is an absolute NASCAR fan! He was given the 3-lap experience by our daughter. The people handling the ride-alongs were so helpful to make this one of his BEST lifetime experiences. This was a memory he will treasure the rest of his life. Thanks to Dale Jarrett Racing Adventures - and our daughter - for making one of his #1 bucket list items possible!

I attended on July 18, 2015 for 10 laps at Talladega. Booking the 7am time in July is a must! It made the heat bearable and it seemed things stayed on schedule. I had a great time and it was certainly a bucket list item. There were several things that could be done better though....and would make the experience MUCH BETTER!!

1. At no time was the proper line around the track ever discussed. It would have been nice to take a quick lap in a regular vehicle so the proper line could have been taught to the drivers. Knowing that out of the gate would have helped mine, and everyone's overall confidence. I was totally floored that this was not discussed at all.

2. The fact that you have absolutely no radio or intercom communication with the instructor sitting next to you is horrible. I feel I was very much capable of running much faster laps earlier on if we could have talked during the drive. Today's technology certainly should allow for this.

3. The radio instructor has radio communication with the DJRA people....I feel they try to keep most everyone around the 170MPH mark. I was ready to drop the hammer and go flat out. I had no way to communicate this at all. Its obvious they never intend to let you go flat out.

4. Its a shame there is no way to keep track of your laps. I had no idea what lap I was on. Had I known I was coming up on my last lap....then I would have really tried to push the envelope a little more. The cars and and the track are designed to take it....I was ready to really let er rip. This could be solved...if there was a way to talk with the instructer.

5. The video....1....its expensive.
2. the previous videos I have seen on show both the view out the window and the view of me actually driving the car. This, apparently, this no longer happens. I know the instructors hands were on the wheel from time to time....but that is hard to see while driving. I really would like to know much I was really driving the car. Especially if I plan to come back.

6. Counting the 1st lap as the lap that you leave the pits is so unfair. I was not expecting that at all. It just allows less time to build confidence and speed.

Overall, the morning went very smoothly. Just seems like there are some detail that need to be addressed to make the experience even better. I would do it again though for sure. I hope these issues can be addressed to make the experience better for the future participants!

I stopped racing dirt tracks years ago, the money I made from selling my car was to go towards a Nascar Driving Experience..... I never made it, kids, house payments work commitments etc.... UNTIL recently.. YeeeHarrr, finally get to do something I've always wanted (with my pants on)... It took 13 years of life to create the moment Ive been waiting for. I booked the drive first and then we built our American holiday around that. I chose 10 laps, Next time i'll do more. I've raced V8 dirt track cars, Ive raced karts (for fun), I've driven other cars and raced some little engine cars, Nothing compares to being in a Nascar on Talladega, I drank heeps of water, mentally tried to prepare myself for what I imagined it would be like, researched Youtube video's! Nothing can prepare you for that experience, what a blast. It was something else. I love it. I now have a greater respect for the drivers that can go bumper to bumper side by side at over 200 miles per hour. I will never say Dannica Patrick cant drive!
I paid for the video and had my wife video from outside the car to keep as a memory enhancer. If you have any desire to try it out go for it you will not be disappointed. My wife wasn't into it but the opportunity to have a ride in one couldn't be passed up.. Pay the money go have fun... My only disappointment was I saw 2 video cameras on the video's on you tube, but they only had one in the car, had I know I would have sat my own in the dash ( mount was already there)... Cant fault it other than that.... Do it .

I have been to several NASCAR tracks (Atlanta, Las Vegas, Daytona, Charlotte) for ride-a longs and actual driving. I recently bought 3 6-lap tickets for my sons who are intermediate NASCAR fans. Both have raced on non-NASCAR tracks in Las Vegas. The check-in time was 1pm. We arrived at about 11.30am. Although being the first people to check-in, it wasn't until almost 5pm before they got behind the wheel. There were some things out of the control of the school, but it just took so long and what I saw was; not enough cars on the track (only 4-5 cars on the track and when they needed gas or a tire change that was reduced. Other schools run twice that many and there is always a car ready to go once another hits pit-road.), the "coaches" did not let you really get on it until the last lap (all of the drivers, as well as our own, I spoke to said the instructor kept slowing them down until the last lap. If I pay for 6 laps I want to go 6 laps, not 4 1/2 then push it. I understand safety but one of our drivers races on weekends and even had his own fire suit), drivers were dressed and put in the queue way too soon (they kept calling new drivers when they still had a dozen left to go. Not a huge problem as you would think that would speed things up, but it didn't. I use the adding an on-ramp to an already congested highway analogy), they assign a car for you and if that car has extended laps you just sit and wait even though you were "next" in the queue (we had one of our drivers sit for ~45 minutes after the rest of our group was done because the car that was assigned had several drivers with extra laps - inefficient), no food or concession (if you are going to have your participants on your track for 5+ hours, how about a food stand). At the end of the day, driving a car of this type is always a blast. I would just recommend checking out other options as this was not the best experience we have had driving. Would not recommend this to anyone, especially if there are small children included that want to watch. The temperatures are blazing, you sit for hours and there is little shade.
