Currently, there is a museum contained in the bottom floor of the water tower. The top of the water tower may have some water, but the pressure management has more to do with the public works and utilities pipes and pumps than the usage of water towers to create water pressure and flow to serve all of its customers.

Continently locates, the Water Tower carries a lot of history and dates back to the late nineteenth-century. It was restored back at the start of the millennium and is good on the eye.

Uno dei pezzi storici della città, carina anche a vedersi in una città che nel complesso non ha tante attrazioni vere e proprie, soprattutto dal punto di vista estetico, tranne questa e qualche altra he ci è capitato di vedere girando. Essendo di sera solo visione esterna.

Worth several pictures even if the inside is closed. The inside itself is a marvelous high circular expanse of red brick.
It's located next to the super modern City Hall so it's a two for one-er and makes an interesting photographic contrast.

This is a quick stop. The inside is beautifully arched brick. They have photos of how the inside used to look before it was turned into a local artist’s shop. I did get to see the “tunnels”, the space between the inside and outside walls. The artwork of the local artists is very nice and worth a look and even a purchase!!

My good friend asked my daughter and I to meet her there yesterday. I live in Fresno and have never been there before. It is an awesome historical gem that should be visited by local folks and visitors that may be coming in to Fresno. I had no idea what we would see when we got there yesterday. When you walk in you see an amazing building inside that is hundreds of feet high and lined with used bricks. It is absolutely amazing.
There is a wondering gift shop of local photographers (my friend is one) artists, craftsmen and women, writers, painters and more. There is a section of local books of the area, photos, paintings and handmade goods that are for sale. This is all part of Fresno's art community which is becoming a place to come and visit. Also inside the tower is information on the tower itself and the history of the mill that was part of it years ago.
I highly recommend anyone who lives in Fresno and has guests coming to visit to please take them to this wonderful piece of history. Not only will you enjoy the visit you will see the wonderful pictures , photographs, hand made items such as post cards, tiles and wonderful hand made cards for any occasion., wood crafts and more. It is a wonderful art gallery to visit. The young women who staff the building are very knowledgeable. I highly recommend taking the time to visit when you are in the neighborhood of Fresno street which directly across from the Fresno Memorial Auditorium which is also a gem. Lets support these places that tell the history of our wonderful Central Valley.

Fresno, in my opinion destroyed too much of the old sections of Fresno and were prepared to destroy this magnificat gem of Old Fresno. Fortunately ffrom the efforts of many fine folks, this old water tower was saved and is a look at old history. You can go inside on special days, may fine artists have painted this scenc reminder of days gone by and many photographers such as myself have taken many photos of this site.

Hope they can continue to fund this piece of Fresno History. It has wonderful feel to eat a great Art Gallery location and some hidden surprises if you ask they may show you like the small windows along the stars or the ladder leading up to the water tower itself. The Water Tower is a HISTORIC Landmark.

What a neat little place. You don't realize how big it is until you go in and get a chance to see the displays and the amazing brick work. So glad this was preserved.

One of the oldest surviving structures in downtown Fresno, the Old Water Tower is both an interesting, historic, and attractive architectural gem but also the downtown visitors' centre. It is apparently currently run by the arts council and when it is open one may go inside and see the architecture from within plus get tourist information on Fresno, including information on self-guided walking tours of downtown, plus the significant (and for some people, surprising) amount of public art on display throughout downtown Fresno. One may also buy a range of Fresno souvenirs and artwork, prints, etc.
This area is usually not on most tourists' radar but Fresno has long been one of the largest cities in California and has long been one of the main, if not the main, centre for agricultural business, packing, and shipping, in the state. It thus has a huge downtown with many impressive buildings, artworks, and sites to see. That said, downtown has been struggling with lack of business and a bad reputation, but hopefully it can pick up. Anyway, for those who like exploring downtowns and the like, when in Fresno the Water Tower is a local must-see thing for itself, the information, and souvenirs. I don't even know of anywhere else one can get general Fresno souvenirs.
