Went to see Peter Wolf, him and the two musicians with him were excellent. Went both Friday and Saturday. Had dinner on Saturday, very large portions. Food was good and the staff was excellent. Great Experience

We have wanted to attend a performance here and of course Covid threw a wrench into our plans and were so thrilled to finally be able to go there. It was well worth the wait and now can't wait to go back. We arrived early for our performance and the gentleman assisting in parking was sort of a rude smarta$$ but once we got past him, it was great. We love the funky retro vibe, the gorgeous vintage barware and chatting with the regulars. They have a very orderly system for seating, dinner, etc. Dinner choices were good and plentiful. We very much enjoyed the show, staff, everything.

We recently saw Paula Poundstone at the Stone Mountain Center for the Arts. The venue is small, holding approximately 200 people. There are tables and chairs on the ground level and several chairs and counters on the second level. Dinner is served at 6 pm. Service is quick and efficient. We were a party of 2 and were placed with another party of 2; made some new friends! The food is not inexpensive, but it is phenomenal! I had a Buffalo Chicken Dinner Salad: A huge portion of braised chicken on top of greens, chunks of bleu cheese, homemade croutons, and a maple/bleu cheese dressing. Very delicious and I took half home for the next day. My friend had meatloaf; the largest slice of meatloaf I have ever seen with carmelized onions, served with a huge portion of homemade mashed potatoes mixed with peas and carrots. Both meals came with a good sized slice of homemade cornbread with whipped pumpkin butter. Again, a huge serving; half went home with us. Dessert looked wonderful; there was a choice of pie, chocolate chip sundae with a huge scoop of ice cream and whipped cream, covered with hot fudge sauce. We were too full to try even a bite! Meals are cleared and drinks are served before the show. Paula Poundstone was fantastic! Incredibly funny; we laughed for 2 hours! This is a special event venue; it’s not cheap, but it’s worth every penny!

Stone Mountain Arts Center is a gem located in an obscure location in Brownfield, ME. First, the decor is gorgeous and unique. Second, I was surprised at how delicious and plentiful the food was. I opted for their buffalo chicken salad. It was much more than a salad. It was a meal. Lastly, the acoustics at the show were perfect. It never felt too loud. As always, Peter Wolf put on a great show.

Despite being extremely short staff, the employees were fast, helpful, and attentive. I do not know how they did it.

So you're in the no-where backwater of Brownfield, Maine and here, on top of a mountain, on a dirt road, in the middle of nowhere is this great big barn with a bar, restaurant and nightclub. It's a shock to the system. When you park you might be attacked by a goose or a wild turkey. You could see a bear. You're in the woods. And then you get inside. It's really a culture shock. Big bar, great variety and large open area with balconies for watching relatively popular and mid-name bands and groups you would never expect, such as Alanis Morrisette. All kinds of music is programmed here; no seat is bad, you are close up to the band in a way you never would be in Boston; there is waitress service to every table (and they encourage you to get a beer). It's surreal that this excellent place is here. Who woulda thunk it? Truly amazing. They also have flea markets, antique shows and craft festivals and other events at this place.

Got back to Stone Mountain on our return to Maine and it is as GREAT as ever! Welcoming staff, excellent food and wonderful entertainment! They are always improving the place, the latest one we noticed was the new restrooms! Treat yourself to a wonderful night out in the Maine Woods!

My wife and I saw Paula Poundstone (one of our favorite performers- this was our sixth "concert" and seventh (WWDTM) overall), and this is less than an our from our home.

The venue is located on a dirt road with what looks to be limited parking, also unpaved. You enter to get your tickets in a lounge-like area with an available bar and some seating. We arrived about 5:45 p.m. (parking opened at 4:30 pm, doors to the box office at 5:00 at least for an 8:00 p.m. show) and got number 44 on our tickets- that number determines when you will be called for supper/seating. They started calling people a few minutes after 6, and we were able to get some seats when they reached #20. Lots of chicken decor, and the area itself is pleasant enough.

When they finally called our number (somewhat after 6:30 p.m), we walked in an enclosed breezeway to the barn. We were able to get a table for two with high chairs in the back, near the food prep area and the barn bathrooms. It took a while to give our order, and one entree was out by the time we were asked (luckily, not one we were going to choose anyway). When we were served, the portion size was ample, and incredibly tasty. The menu varies (you can call the morning of the performance if you want to find out ahead of time), and we were pleased although the prices may have been on some items- we felt ours was priced right. Dessert was very expensive (although very good)- and we got one free due to our seating in a high-traffic area.

When Paula came out, we had no problem seeing or hearing her- the venue is not huge although I am not sure how the seating works in the balcony. There is priority seating for people who eat at one of two inns in nearby Eaton, NH and then take a shuttle over.

Some caveats before the summary- if you want to be able to sit near the front, you will have to arrive early to get a low seating order- first in, first seated. The parking looked limited but it was hard to tell for sure. The high seats gave a good view but if you have any mobility issues may be problematic getting on and off. There is no wifi or cell coverage. The biggest heads-up: Cash or check only for your meal. If you need to use a card, you will have to buy a gift certificate at the box office and then use that for payment for your food.

For the venue itself- it is marvelous. Intimate, out of the way, and what looks to be a great view on a sunnier late afternoon. Friendly staff. Great food. Low prices compared to larger venues in some cases. Definitely a great place to see some very good acts (we are going back to see Bob Marley in July).

SMAC is hidden in Western Maine and it's worth finding. The food is outstanding; one of the best places to dine in the area. The servers are fun and friendly as is the bar tender. But you can enjoy the music without having dinner. The artists include some well known and some not so well known, but no matter who you see, you will have an enjoyable evening. Go once and you will be back for more.
