We enjoyed getting to wander around this gallery. There was art by local artists and art students, which we loved to see! The front-desk person was knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely worth stopping in--we started our day in Provincetown at this gallery before continuing to wander down Commercial Drive.
April is a bit off-season, so we had the gallery to ourselves!

Nice artwork but small, little bit off the beaten path, no parking so plan to hoof it. Was hoping for more

Superb yet small enough to enjoy in an hour. Deep collection of contemporary and historic Outer Cape artists. Beautiful gift shop. Welcoming and friendly staff.

This is a museum showcasing the artists of Provincetown. The museum is small so it takes about an hour and a half to see the exhibits. While we there, there was a life size display of the Pilgrims landing on Cape Cod in 1620. The exhibit was entitled "The Arrival 1620" by Mimi Gross.

this is a small museum. you can generally see everything in around an hour to 1 1/2 hrs. nevertheless, it is a gem with interesting exhibits and comfortable space. staff are friendly and helpful. lighting and organization are fine. museum is fully compliant on fighting COVID, so you should register for an entry in advance and be prepared for a lecture on precautions. in the past, they had a nice little bookstore, but that is unfortunately closed with the virus. you can order items online.

Provincetown is one of the few remaining active artist colonies in the States. Plus, Provincetown has produced art that is world class. The history of the art in P'Town has not only influenced the States, but much of the Western world as well. I still visit here for the art and the history it reflects.

PAM is a member of NARM, so my card allowed me in free. Nice selection of modern versus classic plein air and impressionism.

This is the place to experience the best of Provincetown art and survey its history-- from Charles Hawthorne and Edward Hopper to abstract expressionists greats, like Hans Hoffman, to current-day experimenters. A medium-sized museum, it usually has two or three exhibits running simultaneously, each of which allows you to look slowly and in-depth at the art on display, and think about how Provincetown itself connects the work of those who have visited and created there for many decades. There's always something inspiring and fresh to see. Extra bonus: Excellent book selection and other gifts in the museum store.

Monet even came here. Provincetown is a strong draw for artists because the light reflects up from water on three sides of town, along with the ever-changing and captivating color palette, create a one-of-a-kind ambience that photographers, painters, writers, and other artists continually work to capture. A collective of artists, this 105-year-old association celebrates the artists who have studied in and/or been affected deeply by their time in Provincetown -- the birthplace of American impressionism, modernism and even theater. That list of artists includes impressionists, modernists, surrealists and abstract Impressionists alike, including Henry Hawthorne, Henry Hensche, Hans Hofmann (who also maintained his New York School in the winter), Max Ernst, Robert Motherwell, Franz Kline, Jackson Pollack, Helen Frankenthaler (the recent subject of a landmark retrospective), and Lee Krasner.

Unless you know something about art you can skip this one - there are dozens of other gallery's in the immediate area and they don't have a $12 admission charge.

Good evening. I am searching for information on Murray M Wax and in particuar two water color paintings of nude men. I have been informed that the paintings were most likely from the 1940s while he lived in New York. I will attempt to contact the Association tomorrow (Saturday the 11th). Please accept my thanks for any assistance you may provide. Bob Dumais
