We didn’t do the gardens, although looking at other people’s photographs, they do look pretty. We did however have lunch at the tea room, whilst what we had was nice, but not exceptional, it was a little pricey.
We decided to treat ourselves to some cake to take home, but £8 for two small pieces of carrot cake! Not sure what recipe they use, cake was pale, very few carrots, no walnuts and covered in buttercream instead of cream cheese, don’t think we will be calling in for tea and cake again ant time soon.

These are lovely little gardens to wander around. Nice borders, interesting hedges, a pond and nice lawns.

Sunday 4th June 2023, My husband and I went out for the day to go to a ‘Plant Fair’ at Felley Priory Gardens at Underwood in Nottinghamshire. The drive through the countryside to the priory was a real pleasure with lots of wonderful greenery and flowering trees and bushes and the day was wonderfully warm and sunny.
We arrived and parked our car and then strolled round the Plant Fair. We saw some wonderful plants. My husband purchased 3 dark blue agapanthuses’ for our large garden pot, which we had been meaning to do for some time.
My husband and I then looked round the outside of Felley Priory house (Not Open To The Public) and afterwards strolled round the wonderful gardens.
My husband and I strolled round these wonderful gardens with there scented roses and colourful herbaceous borders and lovely pond filled with lilies and surrounded by purple and yellow irises. There were some wonderful topiary trees in the shapes of peacocks and swans.
The white garden I loved with its bench’s surrounded by white roses, alums and peonies and its lovely perfume scenting the air. We rested here in the sunshine soaking up the sun. I found inspiration here and I wrote two poems called ‘The White Garden of Secrets’ and ‘Sensational Summer’.
We spent the afternoon in these wonderful gardens with we enjoyed and quiet with just the birds singing in the trees and no city traffic sounds. We left her as the garden was closing at 4.00pm.

Visited this early in the year to see the show of daffodils and fritillaries. Both were large and at their best. The rest of the garden is showing the first sign of coming back to life after the Winter. The topiary is at its best having recently been clipped into shapes.
In addition their cafe is as good ever with good coffee and scones.
A good place to visit and see the garden at Andy time of year
They also have an excellent nursery from which we always come away with some plants.

This was very easy to find. The old priory looks amazing but it’s not open to the public. You enter the car park by a self opening gate. Plenty of room to park but it was very busy the day I went. I paid to walk around, sadly there was no concession available. The grounds are very nice and quaint. The topiary was very nice. There was also a plant sale, the prices were average and there are some greenhouses you can enter. The cafe was heaving, there were no seats available so I didn’t have anything. A friend told me afterwards that it’s a very popular place with local people and it’s best to book ahead.

Took mom for an afternoon out. Most impressed with all the staff and volunteers. They couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Beautiful garden but some slopes and gravel paths difficult with mom in wheelchair. Gardens/Groundsmen offered assistance and helped mom to access more of the garden.
Lovely tearoom with good menu and afternoon tea. Again staff very helpful. The food was good and nicely presented. Nursery selling plants. The lovely lady in the nursery helped me into one of greenhouses with mom when rain started. Then helped me back to the car with mom and carried our purchases over in boxes while I helped mom into car. A lovely day out. All the way home mom kept saying how friendly everyone was.
Garden difficult with wheelchair but well worth seeing. Even if you just do top 2 terraces.
Great place to buy some different and more unusual plants

Excellent visit to these beautiful gardens.
The boring bits they cost £5 (seniors) & £6 (adults) entry, unless you are a member of the RHS when they are free on Tuesday & Wednesday. They are open Tuesday to Friday plus some Sundays. Best to check the website for exact dates.
This was our first visit this year and the gardens are a lovely as ever. They have a white garden, rose and agapanthus garden, (absolutely stunning today), lots of topiary, lovely borders packed with a huge range of plants (many in bloom). A lovely lake with plants in and around it. All in it’s a great place to see a huge assortment of plants growing many of which are on sale in the attached nursery.
In addition there is a tea room with tables inside and out serving a large range of drinks, snacks and lunches. It get busy so book ahead to be sure of a table.

A beautiful garden with great planting schemes and some great vistas. Excellently kept including great topiary. The gardeners were friendly and helpful. There is also a good sized nursery selling plants at reasonable prices and an excellent cafe. Well worth a visit.

The gardens were nice but apart from the cottage garden, not much colour anywhere. I think it’s overpriced at £6 per person. The Nursery’s not much cop either.

I think you will find opening times on their web site and think they are generally open Tuesday to Friday.
