Boat Launch is closed. Severe damage due to weather. No word as to if, or when it will be repaired at this time.
Trees and some hiking trails in area. Nice place for a picnic lunch.

Late October is great time to visit,drive was easy but on the first parking level something fell or hit my windshield with a very loud thump don’t know if someone threw something from down by beach or exactly where it came from but didn’t stay around the weather was decent.

High water levels have taken away most of the beach. Still fine to set up a chair on the grass and watch the lake, but that's it.

Dont get it, used to be a cool place and now they charge>?? it isnt a very good boat launch anyway. should be called a boat raunch

The long winding road in to the park should not be underestimated! Be sure to roll the windows down as you drive in so you can hear the birds chirping! Once you arrive at the top of the hill,you will be welcomed by a wonderful view of Lake Huron. There is a way down to the sandy beach by the boat ramp, dont try the cliffs...a bit too rugged now due to erosion. We brought our lunch and sat up top,then headed into the water. It was just a great afternoon spent! Enjoy!

We went to see if we could get on the beach, to just put our feet in the water.... didn't happen!
We are a retired couple. My spouse had a knee replacement about a year ago. She can no longer ascend one descend sharp slopes. There are no stairs or beach access for people like her, at this park.
It's a nice park in a quiet setting, but. I easy beach access for seniors or handicapped folks.

Just did a tour through the place, to check it out. You can launch a boat on their ramp and there is parking for a few cars/trucks with boat trailers. Not a lot of parking.

a short 20 min. drive from Sarnia Ont with a good beach on Lake Huron & grassed picnic areas. Usually not very busy as it's somewhat of a 'hidden secret'.

We stopped here for lunch just to walk along the lake. I know they're going for letting nature go on her own these days but the fishy smell at the beach was awful. You had to walk down the beach a ways to get away from it. The beach is sandy, looked a little deep for children to swim. Looks like it's used to launch boats into the lake.

An update from my post of September 30, 2014. Not much has changed and that is good. Noted that several photos posted by Bianca_Dr are not from the Highland Glen area. There is a boat launch, free until Spring of 2017 but no surfboard rentals or stairs showing going down to the beach. We enjoyed a picnic here on November 1st. and took a few more photos.
