Extraordinary
juill. 2017 • En couple
This international exposition of nativity scenes augmented the many exhibitions that were alongside the roadside in the hamlet of Riviere-Eternite. A short walk outside the indoor exhibition were about 20 more nativity scenes of various sizes built out of wood, metal and plastic. They are unique and inspirational and created by local artists. The totem pole in the park alongside highlights carvings of Canadian icons like the beaver, bear.
Inside, the exposition of nativity scenes were from all over the world. (I lost count at 30). From small to sprawling there were made from different materials and showcased the different perspectives of the country of origin. These scenes have been presented to this "nativity museum" by collectors over time. $5 for admission which included a tour of the church on the floors above the collection. Extraordinary attraction.

Great roadside attraction. Quick, free and well worth the visit. Probably 15-20 different nativity scenes (very different styles) right on the side of the highway in a little park. Very cool.

Nativity Scenes
oct. 2015 • En couple
Located along the highway there is a year round exhibition of nativity scenes. These scenes were created by local artists and cover the range from traditional to modern. There is a ~300 yard path along which are numerous (20+) nativity scenes. There is also a nativity totem pole and an Inuit version. During the holiday season these displays are augmented and lit up at night. A nice diversion while touring the Saguenay region.
