A must while in Saratoga springs! History, artifacts, sculptures, Art work etc. All you could ever want to know about Horse racing. very interesting displays and fun for all ages.

We visit this wonderful museum once a year. It is a must see. There are wonderful collections of the history of horse racing at this beautiful track.

Outstanding museum, loaded with history about horse racing throughout the years. The two men at the welcome desk were unbelievably welcoming and knowledgeable. What a welcomed gift to know they Honor Veteran's.....the movie wasn't working so they gave us 2 passes to return .

Great museum that covers all the great horses in the history of racing. Very cool Hall of Fame presentation. Nice gift shop. Interactive displays.

16 minute movie is really good. Make sure not to miss this.
There are at least two sets of restrooms. We were sent to the basement when we asked where the bathrooms were, but we later found other bathrooms on the ground floor.

An interesting museum with tons to see and read about. The 360 degree movie was interesting and the guide who introduced it was certainly passionate about racing and was a wealth of information following the short film, we stayed back to chat with her and ask her questions. We spent maybe an hour here but if you were really into horses and racing you could certainly spend a few hours reading all of the displays.

If you come during racing season, weekend mornings have special free admission - I forget if they are on Saturdays or Sundays, but the museum is free on those days

We are not horse people, but this museum is magnificent! No expense was spared in creating a beautiful and interesting horse racing museum. The 16 minute movie alone is worth the visit!

very interesting. The film was very good, worthwhile. The exhibits interesting if you are interested in thoroughbreds. We live in a state big on racing so it was fun and educational. Wish the sport would be more inclusive though.

What a great museum of the history and magic of racing. The new film in the Hall of Fame is extraordinary and tugs at the heartstrings with all the heart that goes into training and racing. Amazing display of history with many exhibits and nice interactive touches to remind you of race days. Staff is super friendly and helpful, and the whole experience was very well worth the detour in our travels.

The Museum is open Wednesday through Sundays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through December 31, 2019.

The date for the induction into the Hall of Fame has moved around in recent years. (I'm on the Voting Panel for the Hall of Fame, so I keep abreast of such things.) It USED to be on the second Friday in August, but this year (2017) -- it was changed to the FIRST Friday. Best to put a reminder to yourself, to check the Museum's website for updates, starting in early April when the new Inductees' names will be announced. :)

There is a lot of Saratoga history that can be done on foot with a dog if that helps. Congress Park, Saratoga Spa State Park and touring the local streets to look at Victorian homes. You can get self guiding walking tour material at the Visitor Center. Also, the Saratoga National Battlefield is not far and you can drive that in your own vehicle Enjoy your visit.

The entry fee is nominal. The staff asked us if we were members of AAA, AARP, etc. and my wife and I paid only $5 for both of us. They seemed intent on making the entry fee as low as possible.
Afterwards we enjoyed a fabulous meal at The Gideon Putnam about 1 mile away.

Admission to the Museum is $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for seniors 55 and over and students. Children 5 and under are free. We are not far from Broadway and within walking distance is the Brook Tavern and Spring Street Deli.
