We had a really great time visiting Watson Farms. We really wanted to go apple picking and I just googled where we could go and that’s how we stumbled across this place. I believe we went on the last weekend of apple picking, so some varieties weren’t available, but that didn’t matter. We had such a great time. It’s really a great way to spend some time together as a family. It struck me funny that the farm was nearly surrounded by urban surroundings, but it was a lovely setting. We picked apples, and then picked out some pumpkins. We got a wagon ride around the farm, and then we explored the corn maze. A great day! (We didn’t visit the kids play area, because it was super crowded, but that didn’t matter to us because we had already spent a few hours enjoying the more open spaces).

Watson Family Farm is a HUGE place. Apart from the numerous rows for strawberry picking, they also offer peas and beans picking in the summer too. My kids loved the tractor wagon ride, where you can take the wagon to get to the strawberry fields (TIP: saves you a walk in the heat).
There’s also a BIG playground with a tall slide and a tractor, alongside with sand toys, for the kids to play in and that was very fun as well. And don’t forget to feed and pet the goats and the calf in the petting zoo and feed them corn which is available on site (pay 25 cents in the corn machine).
Couple more tips:
- Go in the morning. It’s far less busy and you get the best selection of strawberries & have the entire field to yourself.
- Even better, go on a weekday morning! It is not busy then and you can find parking easily. You also won’t feel rushed.
- Have masks and hand sanitizers. You are required (esp adults) to wear masks throughout the farm, including the wagon ride.
- Bring dry snacks for the kids (I had apples, crackers and pretzels) and eat it in the playard area. Outside food and drinks are not allowed otherwise.

I stopped for veggeis. Everyone else was there for pumpkins and related fall activities with their kids. Crazy busy place low in the vegetable department. Maybe this wasn 't the season for veggies, I managed to get a big cauliflower for a decent price. Parking lots nuts, so much outdoor activities for the kids.

Great fruits and veggies lots of fun for kids but the prices are outrageous cheaper farms around Durham region and surrounding areas

Great experience, lots of variety apples to choose from. First time apple picking. Would recommend to others.

There was a good variety of fresh produce and lots of pumpkins to choose from, well displayed and easy to access. My rating for this attraction is low since the website is outdated and some features described which we specifically visited for were not available this year. Although the weather was not favourable for outdoors activity, it was still good to see a few animals and check out the playground. Hours of operation listed are for the store. Best to call ahead to verify other events highlighted are current.

Pick your own apples (or strawberries) in season or browse the shop for something delicious. Healthy eating can be fun, and is much more appealing with fresh, local food. Stop for a short visit with the animals too. Don't pass by the cheese cooler without some fresh curds to take home! Our new favourite is the cider with a cinnamon stick and some dark rum!

Watson’s a great place for just Apple picking. They had a variety of apples to pick from. Pro no entry fee Con $35 for a bag of apples
