We are grateful that the family that owns this bridge allows tourists to share in the history and appreciation of covered bridges. This opportunity was a blessing, as we were short on time. By "chance" we saw the sign for it.
The paper copy with the story of the bridge reconstruction was a thoughtful bonus. You can park and walk through the bridge. It is visitor friendly but remember you are on private property. We spent a half-hour photographing it and enjoying the peaceful green surroundings and the creek. There was a portable bathroom nearby.

As so many of Oregon's covered bridges, some you can still drive through or across. they are all beautiful and the stories behind many are fascinating in the historical information behind the bridge itself to many being used in motion pictures. If covered bridges are you thing do not miss those thought the State of Oregon. We have visited several in Vermont and New Hampshire and Mane.

It was neat to see for a couple of minutes if you like covered bridges. There is a house on the other side of it. Nice water running under it.

I drove out here... was a little disappointed.. a nice bridge but it's on private land so not really that visitor friendly... I don't know if it ever gets busy but I can see that being a problem..

It was nice seeing the place and reading the history about it. A couple more picnic tables and at least another portable restroom would be helpful. We arrived with four other visitors at the same time, so more eating/picnic spaces and restroom availability would have improved the visit a bit.

We absolutely loved stopping here even though it is partially private property, it is open to the public but you need to be aware of that upfront and be respectful of their space on the other side of the bridge. It was so relaxing to walk in and just listen to the sound of the water running underneath. The natural beauty of the area is quite something too, the trees are covered in moss and when we were there the sun was hitting them just right so they looked like they were glowing green. The only way this would have been any better would be if there were walking trails, but it is worth seeing if you like history, bridges, or just pretty picturesque out-of-the-way places.

Not to dissuade you, but if you are gathering all the covered bridges in the Willamette valley (highly recommended) keep in mind this bridge has a home close by on either side. Not a place you will want to linger. But worth it for the whole set.

How do you get to the covered bridge? How far from Lincoln City?

Highway 101 to Highway 18 (five miles)' then about 4 or 5 miles on Hwy 18. There's a sign indicating where to turn, then another mile or so. Easy peach. Enjoy.
