We walk our labrador in this park in the summer months and he finishes off with a plunge amongst many dogs.

Took my kids and grandkids here for a day of frolicking in the water and a picnic. While we were in the water a woman not watching her dog and letting it run around came in urinated all over our lunch umbrella and blankets. Not cool people keep your dogs on leashes where they belong so others can enjoy the environment we pay for. Other than that it’s an amazing area great to go kayaking rafting out of and Oaks Park is really close

Lovely park on rivers edge. Rest facilities. No food for purchase or equipment for rent. Good view of new Sellwood bridge.

I came to the area to have a look at the Sellwood Bridge. After I did this I walked down to SE Spokane to stroll around Sellwood Waterfront Park. I am glad i did.

I saw the sign for oaks park pointing the way to that amusement park nearby. And discovered that this is also next to the bicycle and pedestrian path that leads to Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge and also to the Springwater Corridor. So you can get here by using that if you are into getting a bit of healthy physical activity. Wait for a sunny day to do that.

I saw loads of people walking with their dogs in this park. So it is popular for going out for walkies.

But what I liked best was the waterfront dock. I strolled out on that and found this was an excellent place to take photographs of the Sellwood Bridge. There was a boat anchored in the water in the foreground and that added so much to the shot.

I walked around the trails. And one of them looped around a pond that claims to have a rare frog that resides in the pond. I didn't see it. I hope it didn't croak. The walk around the pond was nice. and there is a wood bridge that spans over the marshy pond area. So you have that walking on water feel sans biblical plaque of frogs. Being rare must make them very shy.

So this park is sandwiched between the Sellwood Bridge to the south and Oaks Park to the north. With the Willamette River lapping on its western shore. What more could you ask for.

After a meal in Sellwood, we headed over to SE Spokane, parked at the end of the road, and walked along the trails, making our way towards Oaks Bottom. There's enough room that you can dodge the dog walkers, runners and other athletic events, and still focus on your conversation. Would suggest taking this walk on a summer or late spring night when you have more light ... and can easily find your way back to the car. From this vantage point, you can also take a few minutes to walk under the Sellwood bridge which is a bit spooky and fascinating.

Can get up close and personal with the river. A bit scary with the water as high as it is this spring. Wonderful parking but you have to look for it. It is at the back of a commercial lot. Nice paved walks for jogging and dog walking.

This park has a great parking lot for visiting the park or taking a walk/ride on the paved trail which will take you all the way into downtown. There are great views of the river. Good for kayakers and dog owners.

We often stroll along the bike path near the Sellwood Bridge and visit this riverfront park. We would sit and watch the riverfront activities. There are always many dog owners exercising their dogs playing fetch in the park and in the river water. There were probably more than 20 dogs with their masters when we visited this weekend. If you do not like dogs, this is not a place for you. Most owners are attentive to the poop of their dogs, but some do not and children may step on some unwanted attachments. This park is a short stroll to the Oaks Amusement Park.

This is a small park that is a dog park. Look out for leftovers from the dogs and if you decide to sit down, make sure you have a blanket or a chair. It is a lovely little park and close to the river. The venue is great for concerts, children and animals-dogs.

Wonderful morning setting out for a paddle from here. As we paddled along there were tons of dogs playing in the water fetching their sticks and just swimming. In the morning it's nice and shady here.
The parking lot isn't too big but seems to flow w people leaving and coming at different times. There is also a fellow renting out boards and kayaks here.
Lovely to paddle around the island about 15 minutes down river and back. Total time approx two hours.
Lovely park, amusement park here also, further down.
