They should be ashamed of themselves. The grass is NEVER cut despite staff driving around with mowers on their truck. Literally, the product they are selling IS a clear, maintained campsite and they don't even provide that! When raising the issue to staff they make excuses about not having enough help. But they have invented an even more clever scheme to collect money and not provide a maintained site- there are now signs that claim "low mowing" is to provide an environment for insects. Send them the bill when you get Lyme disease from a tick bite.
The pot holes in the road will swallow your car and the boat ramp is in deplorable condition. Giant ruts along the ramp are a hazard.

We hiked the Little Falls Trail. It is it a bit more than a mile roundtrip, but lots of rocks and tree roots underfoot, so you have to be careful. It was wonderful. The water was high, and a beautiful short hike.

This is our third time here and we were disappointed. The bathrooms and kitchen areas were infested with ants crawling everywhere. The park wasn't staffed probably due to being Christmas Eve and Christmas Day but people were taking advantage of that fact. We saw people in a cabin with 7 people, limit 5, with a dog, no dogs allowed. We saw 2 vehicles at the bathroom using the shower at 9:30PM at night and they weren't campers on that night as there were only two of us camping and the other car was at his cabin. The people in the two vehicles left the campground after they saw us. The last morning we saw a vehicle with lights on at the end of the Pickerel Point peninsula where the sign said "no camping". The vehicle drove out of the campground while still dark so was probably camping for free.

We stayed at the Bear Wallow rustic cabins a few years ago and camped at Pickerel Point this past weekend. The rustic cabin has 2 bunk beds, a living area with a fire place, and a kitchen with a stove and refrigerator (but NO water). There is a dedicated bathroom (with water) about 30 ft. behind the cabin. Note, these rustic cabins are rented by the week (Friday to Thursday) between Memorial Day to mid-August.

The campsites at Pickerel Point are somewhat small and rocky so be sure to bring tarps and extra sleeping pads! Many of the walk-in sites (park your car at the lot and walk 100-200 ft to the campsite) have direct access to the lake so you can just launch your kayak from your campsite. Priceless! There is also a sandy beach and kayak launching area at the tip. Potable water spouts are available throughout the campsite. There are 3 bath houses with toilet, shower and dishwashing stations for the 75 unit campground. The toilets and showers were very clean and uncrowded. I only need to go to a further bath house to wash my morning dishes as the 2 sinks nearest to us were occupied.

In addition to tent and RV sites, there are also 3 camping cottages (log structures with 2 bunks a sitting area and a deck with a grill and fire ring) at the campground.

Boat rental is available at Pickerel Point and also at the day use area. Besides water sports, there are also many hiking trails. The two easiest are the Little Falls Trail (hike along side small waterfalls in shade) and Conservation Island (flat hike in a circular loop with views of the lake).

I highly recommend Promised Land State Park.

Started out camping in tents at Pickerel Point Campground this past weekend and it was COLD but fortunately some of us were able to get a rustic cabin and had a great time. It was snowing Sunday morning and got to see an eagle soaring which was beautiful..

We had recently stayed in the Beechwood campgrounds and had a terrible stay. The so called "host" of the campgrounds were completely rude. They had told us about an incident. Instead of coming up to us quietly and speaking to us they were very loud and rude about it. And that was just one of the incidents. Very unprofessional. Sometimes its not what is said but how iti is said that matters. The rest of the park and stay was excellent and wed definitely stay again. Just not there.

Camping site is beautiful specially the lake view. However restrooms and cleanliness is poor. During our stay It was out of order for one of the afternoon. On top of it even after keeping the site clean we received summons for $271 fees with poorly written observation. Calling the office since then but no luck !!

We typically camp every year at different sites. This is was the first time and will prefer not to visit again !!

We stayed for the first time at Pickerel Point Campground in the Promised Land State Park. It was wonderful! Our site was large and private. You wouldn't even know you had neighbors. So peaceful and easy for our daughter to ride her bike around.

Loved the lake and being able to moor our kayaks right there so we could go out anytime we wanted.

We are headed back in August and can't wait!

I have been camping here with my family for years. The grounds and facilities here are excellent and always clean. Very family friendly atmosphere. We use it as a base for tubing/canoeing the Lackawaxen or Delaware (the riverside campgrounds look insanely crowded every time we pass by).

This is the cleanest, nicest campground I have ever stayed at. The cabin was clean and warm, and despite the at least 18 inches of snow, the walkway to the parking spot was shoveled when we got there. There are several electrical outlets and a heater. The bathrooms were warm, clean, and had automatic flushing toilets. The showers were hot, and even the floor was warm in there! I don’t usually stay in cabins, so I don’t have a lot of comparison, but I was impressed. It’s a good feeling to come inside when it’s 18 degrees outside and be warm and smell cedar.

The only bad thing I could say is that the full-size mattress was saggy, but I know a cabin is not a hotel. If you don’t like spring mattresses bring a cot, a sleeping pad, or an inflatable mattress. To me, everything about staying in this cabin was luxury, because I am used to tent camping.

It was really cool to come to Pickerell Point in February and see people ice fishing! We even waked across the lake to an island. I didn’t know you could do something like this in Pennsylvania.

I want to come back in the summer with my tent.
