This could be a great local and the locals are trying to maintain it as such. Great pub, only one for music in the village, But now the owners Punch are going through their usual ritual to ensure the pub is not profitable and therefore give reason to close and sell off. Appalling as the loss will be another vanished local asset....Punch=asset strippers. They do it all over the country exploiting the naivety of local planners, so very sad. But let's hope this one avoids the executioner's axe.

During the last war my grandfather run this pub so this was trip down memory lane as far as I was concerned. The outside of the pub was decorated with fresh flowers which made it very inviting. We were met and served by the landlord who we soon learnt took immense pride if the quality of his real ales. They were spectacularly good! He was a font of local knowledge and nothing was to much trouble. This a beer pub and food is only served on Saturday and Sunday.
Dogs are made welcome and quite unbelievably my wife had her hair cut by the landlords daughter, a qualified hairdresser, in one of the back rooms. All in all a great lunchtime. It's the sort of pub you wished you lived closer to! Will return asap.

Lizzie Corish last night and a good crowd on the warmest balmy Saturday evening so far this year. Great to see that the place has come back to life so successfully. Slightly concerned that the management are already a bit edgy fearing possible noise issues with neighbours. But with a little care why should that be a problem in almost laid back Millbrook?

We used to come here for the lively music, the bustling jolly crew of locals and visitors and the passable ale. Not been in since early July. Now we hear that the music licence has been revoked or somehow cancel and the landlady gone. This is a huge loss to the village and to the area.we hope it's just a pause and that it's very much watch this space.

Anyone know what's happening to this pub? Is it likely to reopen soon? Not being turned into holiday flats I hope!
