What an amazing show last night… Andy Frasco & the U.N. and Cool Cool Cool are forces of nature! We all thoroughly enjoyed.

Higher Ground as a positive contrast, was such a chill venue. Great people and layout added to the wonderful and exhilarating evening.

Not being from Burlington, it was our first time at HigherGround; I will now be monitoring their calendar and I look forward to returning.

Pretty nice venue except the two security guards at the entry way marked two big Xs twice on the hand of my 13 year old daughter twice with a black permanent marker. There was no concert that time except it was a very intimate gathering to showcase the performance of A dog foundation alumnae. There were 3 presenters including my other daughter and there was no big crowd. When I asked them why do they have to do that, they said to prevent them from ordering or consuming alcohol at the bar or at the venue. My daughter is with us (both parents) along with other adults and other kids were not marked. We are in 2022 and they have no system to check this except putting permanent black sharpee in both hands. Have you heard about Id'ing minors before they order alcohol or do spot checks? And yes they are with their parents and it was not a rock concert. I plead them that it wont be necessary and they still smile us at like my daughter's hand was a canvass. The two guys were arrogant at the most doing power trip. This just totally disrespectful to the parents (us) who were with our daughter that time but only shows their antique system of checking minors. And by the way, the other kids who are white were not marked.

We had our wedding here, and it was a perfect venue and very affordable! All of the staff were great to interact with. We got everything we wanted for our wedding!

My family have been to many a show at this venue. my mother is handicapped and either uses her wheel chair or her walker, and we have always gotten great help and care from the team at Higher Ground. Even the other patrons see her condition and have never bum rushed her when doors open, and most even have offered to help her get to her seat and such. it is so nice that a local place cares so much and will go out of their way to help someone.

This Venue is horrible. "Security" thinks they're important and tough stuff. The girl at the box office thought it was fun to yell at me...

While the venue showcases fantastic musical acts, this place needs a serious overhaul. First of all, the lack of seating is appalling. I counted 12 tiny bistro chairs scattered here and there on the perimeter of the room, and about 16 barstools for a place that holds more than 500 people. If you aren't the first 30 people through the doors, you won't be able to sit anywhere. This is a problem for older folks such as myself with mobility issues. Anticipating a long wait in line before granted entry is also a challenge so unless you bring your own lawn chair, be prepared to stand around for an hour in line if the act is a big one. Be forewarned, you will NOT be able to take your own seating into the venue. My advice to Higher Ground, please rethink your seating. Not everyone is 21 years old, and quite frankly, they get tired, too! Add more seating, because if this doesn't happen, I won't be going back.

Their bathrooms need a much needed overhaul. The toilet seats are all loose and the commodes are so small and low standing, you feel like you're sitting on the floor. The handicapped accessible stalls are available if you can navigate the crowds waiting to use the facility during breaks, which brings me to the next issue: If you have accessible restrooms, why is there a step down to the venue's main room from the lobby? I wasn't able to ask anyone about where the handicap accessible entry was, so if you use a wheelchair, I strongly advise that you call in advance and find out.

I don't want to focus entirely on the negative here. In most of my experience there, the bouncers and security staff have been pleasant and professional. Bartenders are focused, polite and speedy. I received free soft drinks as I was the designated driver. Nice touch. Since I don't drink, I can't offer any information on what drinks go for, but the crowd seemed to be mainly beer and wine drinkers.

In closing, if you chose to visit Higher Ground call first to find out about handicapped accessibility. And be prepared to stand. A lot. More than should be acceptable. Invest in better chairs and more of them, Higher Ground. And it would be a nice touch if you cordoned off a portion of the stage front for those with disabilities as many other concert venues provide. I couldn't get anywhere near the stage for a better look. I might be old, I might be physically challenged, but I still love to rock and roll like the 20 year old kids. Give us a break, huh?

I love this place so much. I come here often for concerts and I was just here for the SOJA/ Iya Terra/ Pasaafire show and of course - it was spectacular. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the sound is always great, the atmosphere is killer, and the new people I get to meet become music family :) I have not had a bad experience here ever. This time, the staff went above and beyond when myself and my friends were looking to go outside to smoke but could not yet as people were still showing up (after the first set). Once we were allowed outside, one of the staff members came and FOUND us to let us know we could smoke. So nice! He didn't have to do that but we were super appreciative! I also usually try to get an event poster and upon arriving this time, there was only 1 left and it was out in the lobby - the staff let me go out and grab it before the show even started! So awesome :)

For the size this is a nice little venue! I’ve seen a few bands here in the past and have never been disappointed!

This “club” offers a stage for up and coming musicians. Occasionally even a super star. But as a senior citizen I don’t go to performances often as the room gets packed.....and without chairs, you are on your feet for an hour or more with young adults who really “know the scene” and like the up close and personal opportunity to see and hear this newer music.
