We were in Bellingham for a wedding and this was on the ’to do’ list for the wedding guests. My husband and I drove the short distance and found this well developed tulip farm.
It looks like there may have been some smaller versions to visit as well. Here they had good, organized parking. Once you get on the grounds, you just wander from tulip variety to another. It is stunning. (May, 2023)

Acres and acres of tulips of dozens of varieties -- it was amazing. The tulip festival is the entire month of April. The company, RoozenGarde, sells bulbs, of course, but doesn't ship them till October, which is when they should be planted.

My husband and I were amazed at how beautiful everything was at the Tulip Festival. Everything was well run from parking, traffic control, and crowds. I heard from several people that this would be the closest thing to the Holland Tulip festival. I even showed my sister (who has been to Holland) the photos that we took and she agreed that it was like Holland. I couldn't take enough photos, and it's true what they say when pictures do not do it justice. Absolutely beautiful and so worth the trip.

Well worth the trip! We only visited RoosenGoarde it is very popular. Ample parking across the street. Plan on a little walk from parking if you go later in the day. Abundant tulips. Beautifully landscaped garden. Two stores for shopping and a small section to purchase beverages and, oh yes, the fudge was delicious. Allow plenty of time to roam through the garden and enjoy the amazing assortment of colors.

The “company” promoting this event is truly the ones deserving of this rating. How dare they attempt to promote their city by placing a fuggazi location for this event in the center? The restaurants and road system are ill-equipped to handle any sort of influx of customers. The actual flowers are an hour away with traffic. Shame on you, Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. And yes, it’s also the same address on their website and instagram falsely promoting this “location.”

We travelled up from Seattle to see the Tulip Festival on 27th April, having been unable to visit the previous week because we had been away. However, so close to the end of the month, it did rather feel that we were seeing very much the tail end of the blooms.
We visited one 'garden' - Rosalyn - having decided not to tackle the queue for the car park, the hordes of people lining up at the entrance and the hundreds of people we could see out in the tulip fields at Roozengaarde. However, we did feel that $15 per person to walk around a relatively small area of garden was rather steep, particularly since there were a couple of areas which were uncultivated and just covered in black plastic and one of the ponds had been drained and looked really unattractive.
The day out was saved by coincidence, when we were following the sat nav to get us back onto the freeway to drive back, and we passed a couple of farms where you could just pull in by the side of the road and, provided you get to the edges of the fields, you could walk around the tulips.
We felt this was all much more natural, less crowded definitely and quite beautiful.
Lessons to be learned, come earlier in the month to see the tulips at their best and pick your time carefully to avoid the crowds.

How much is the admission fee?

How much is the admission fee?
Rédigé le 4 septembre 2018
There are multiple tulip gardens to visit and each is priced about the same. If I remember correctly, it is about $8 per person and then there's a family pass for $30. I thought that would cover all the gardens but it did not. Be aware that there are separate entrance fees for each garden you visit.
If you drive around the area, you will also see fields of tulips that you can pull off on the side of the road and take pictures.
We paid at Rozengaard, but didn't pay to see any other gardens.

Can people still come even after the festival ends 4-30-2018? Will there be tulips to see still?
Rédigé le 30 avril 2018
Yes. You can always drive by the fields and snap photos from the road. The gift shop next to the gardens is open. The map and hours are on the individual farms websites. tulipfestivalorg. Roozengaarde and TulipTown are the names of the two farms. As of today their site says they are still blooming.

How is the drive from Seattle airport to Skagit Valley? I have been driving a lot in San Francisco but wanted to know if the drive is risky( due to mountains) or similar to San Francisco?
Rédigé le 12 avril 2018
Rain and slow traffic.
Besides that, I-5 heading north is a relatively easy drive.

we are planning to visit on last weekend of April , wanted to know if any tulips will be in Bloom or all we get is wilted flowers ?
Rédigé le 2 avril 2018
They should still be good. The rain slowed them down and many are just now showing their colors.
Rédigé le 12 avril 2018
We plan to be there April 15th. But I hear they are in full bloom now. Will there be anything to see when we come. We planned this trip a year ago based dates of festival.
Rédigé le 25 mars 2018
They are starting to show their colors right now. They will last several weeks with some new fields opening later. You should be GOod to grow... I mean go!
