This park has lots of grass and several picnic benches. Most is hilly. I think there were a couple grills. There's a bathroom and a good amount of parking. The view was the best. The bus didn't stop here though. I'm not sure why. The bus website says it does but it definitely did not. You have to get off one before or after which is about a mile walk to the park

This was the final stop of our Heavenly Hana tour and what a gorgeous place!
I cannot describe how beautiful the views are so just look at my pics.
The bathrooms here work and are very clean.
Finally, there are chickens everywhere. If you are a fan of Moana, then you may catch yourself calling for Heihei as the male chickens certainly resemble him.
A wonderful ending to a wonderful tour!

We did a thanksgiving race that started at Harold Rice Park. It has beautiful views of Maui. If you are in the area stop and take a look

Great lil park with an amazing view. We stopped here on a Road to Hana tour to stretch our legs, but wow what a great view. Looks like it could be a great place for a family pic nic as there are some tables and benches etc.

I have never understood how this steep hillside on a busy road is considered a park. Not worth traveling to. Go to Poli Poli instead.

Do you like picnics? Or sunsets? How about jaw-dropping views? Rice Park is your place!
THE NAME:
The 3.8 acre park is named after Harold W. Rice (1883-1962), a former republican who later turned democrat territorial senator & chairman of Maui County. Among his other achievements, he helped with the planning of the Maui Memorial Hospital and turning the Kahului Airport from navy control into a commercial airport. After Rice’s death, the park was donated to the Kiwanis Club by his son Harold F. Rice, AKA “Oskie”. The Kiwanis in turn donated the park to the County of Maui.
THE PARK:
The sliver of land is surrounded by Kula Highway and Lower Kula Road, so the constant whizzing of cars going by ruins the serenity. A small parking lot can handle about a dozen vehicles. It has three unofficial sections, all with unobstructed views of Maui’s south and north shores and the island of Lanai in the distance from its 2,500 foot elevation on Mt. Haleakala. There are picnic tables, grills and restrooms. The park’s hilly terrain has been a magnet for kids and kids-at-heart who use flattened cardboard boxes to slide down the grassy knolls. Be careful though as you might hit the railings at the end, or go through them and end up on Kula Highway.
OVERALL:
It’s not everyday you can experience a park that’s high in the sky. Maui No Ka Oi!

Small park with restrooms, loads of chickens clucking about, and a view of almost all of north Maui. One of the most scenic views we had this trip was while eating a picnic lunch at this park. There is nothing here but a spectacular view, but a great place to eat a picnic lunch.

Cute park with public toilets in upcountry Maui. One of the few places in this area with public toilets. There's also a water fountain, picnic tables, and plenty of parking. The park is also a local bus stop. Free parking.

This little park was a nice place to stop and eat our packed lunch. The view is great. There is not much to do there except walk around. They do have restrooms which was nice.
