Parc incontournable à San Diego!
L'architecture est magnifique, les petits jardins très joli ... On y a fait une très belle ballade. Sous le soleil c'est top. Nous y sommes restés 2 heures mais il est possible de rester bien plus surtout si on couple avec des visites de musées.

Beau parc aux multiples musées. A l'américaine mais c'est très agréable tout de même. Ambiance agréable.

Le Park est magnifique. Il vaut mieux vous garer sur le parking de Park boulevard et un petit train fait le tour et c’est gratuit. Conseil de s’arrêter au visiter center que ce situe sur la Plaza de Panama. ils vous donne un plan du Park. Il y a 16 musées mais certains sont gratuits. Attention aux horaires de fermeture.

Je retiens particulièrement le golf de Balboa. Un grand 18 trou assez technique.
Par contre l'espace réservé au practice n'est franchement pas à la hauteur de l'endroit. Il est totalement sans interet. Le prix est très raisonnable, 12 $ les 100 balles. L'accueil sympathique.

Ce parc au milieu de San Diego est génial,avec des aires de pique-nique un peu partout.
Il y a aussi des musées mais qui sont hélas prohibitif.

Un endroit magnifique avec des musées et des jardins. Plusieurs musées sont dédiés à une clientèle plus scolaire. Les jardins japonais et le muse Timken sont mes coups de cœur. Certains musées sont payants, mais l’accès au site est gratuit.

Magnifique parc en coeur de ville. Très agréable de se promener et de pouvoir visiter les différents musées, jardin botanique..... l"atmosphère y est sereine, on peut y passer la journée ou plusieurs jours. A faire sans hésiter.

Arrivé tôt dans le park, nous nous sommes retrouvés quasi seul
Nous avons pu nous amuser avec nos amis les écureuils
Et visiter ce très joli park tranquillement
Plein de choses à voir
Nous nous sommes arrêtés également au jardin chinois : très cher pour ce qu'il y a a voir !

Ce parc est tout simplement superbe.
Vaste, il propose une flore/faune superbe, des bassins, des expositions artistiques, des attractions et diverses représentations.
Les balades sont très agréables et l'ensemble du parc vous garantira de passer un bon moment.
Je recommande vivement ce lieu incontournable.

Balboa Park is 1200 acres in total, and there are 65 miles of walking trails. There are also several gardens. All of these areas are the great places to find wildlife in the park. If you check out the Balboa Park website, there are tabs describing gardens and trails. Enjoy your photo safari in the park!

Hello!
Balboa Park is a city park, and is open 24 hours; the organizations within the park typically are open between 10 am and 5 pm. Depending on when you visit, there may be an event or show, and the Prado or Panama 66 restaurants may be open. The historic buildings are lit up at night as well. A few recommendations: Come on Wednesday night and hear live jazz and have dinner at Panama 66; look at the schedule for the Old Globe theatre, then plan a dinner at the Prado followed by a play; Friday nights during summer there are food trucks, live entertainment, and late hours at museums.
Hello, I was wondering if this attraction is free. Do I need to pay to ride any rides? I am working on planning a trip with children, and I am looking for as many free activities as possible! If anyone has any further suggestions, please let me know!

Balboa Park is a free city park. There are gardens, playgrounds, and architecture to see. The individual non-profit venues inside the buildings are a mix of free and paid; Timken museum of art, WorldBeat Center, Centro Cultural de la Raza, and San Diego Art Institute are free, as is walking around Spanish Village Art Center; Museum of Photographic Arts and San Diego History Center are donation-based. Other venues such as the San Diego Zoo, Fleet Science Center, San Diego Natural History Museum, and more are paid. If you are interested in visiting several of the paid locations, a Balboa Park Explorer Pass can save you money. If you are ONLY going to do free things, I suggest visiting on a Sunday, as there is also a free organ concert, plus free activities at the International Cottages. Parking is free in the park. Visit the main Balboa Park website to familiarize yourself. (BTW - If you are a San Diego resident, there are free museums on Tuesdays; the schedule is on the website.) Enjoy your visit to the park!

Hello!
There are a couple of locations that pop to the top of my head. There is a single tree behind the Museum of Photographic Arts (the Casa de Balboa), visible from the small parking lot there. The second location is along the sidewalk to the right of the Zoo entrance, 2 groups of about 2 trees each. I have uploaded a photo I shot today with my phone of a tree near the Zoo. They are spectacular right now!

Due to the proximity of the airport, does the park often smell of airplane pollution/exhaust?

Hello there! There have not been reports of airplane/airport smells, and working in the park I do not smell what you describe. Although the flight path crosses the Southern edge of Balboa Park, the airport itself is a great distance away, and at a much lower elevation.

Balboa Park is a free park. There are places in the park that are not free, such as several museums and the San Diego Zoo. The Visitors Center can help you with options that are free or paid.

Hello, is there anywhere to park a 40 foot RV with a Jeep attached to it around Balboa Park?

Hello!
This are no parking areas designated for RVs in the park. On less busy days (mainly weekdays) people with large vehicles will often park in the rear of the Zoo lot, or in the larger lot at Inspiration Point; the latter has a free shuttle into the heart of the park. As David P recommended, it would be better if you could use your jeep, or take ride share, from wherever you are parking the RV for your stay in San Diego.

Yes, in fact there are many excellent places to have a picnic in Balboa Park! The park is a city park, and is open to visit at any time. A popular location for a picnic is on the lawn next to the Botanical Building.
