Ukrainian Institute of America et attractions proches : les meilleures façons d'en profiter

La région
Adresse
Quartier: Upper East Side

I visited the Ukrainian Institute of America in March 2022. It was a very interesting visit. The museum is free but I gave a donation of $10. Outside the museum is a large Ukrainian flag and a sign which says "Stand with Ukraine". The current situation in Ukraine is very tragic so I wanted to learn something about Ukraine's history, art and culture. The fourth floor had a lot of Ukrainian art and paintings. I liked the paintings of Kievan Rus' which is where both Russia and Ukraine started a long time ago. There was also an exhibit on the history of the building which dates back to 1955. On the first floor there was an exhibit on Ukraine's history which I found very interesting and also tragic. If you are interested in world events and the current situation in Ukraine then I recommend visiting here to learn about the country's history, art and culture.

This is s combination museum of Ukrainian history, art by Ukrainian famous artists and as well as art gallery with art works for sale. The institute is in one of the many museums along 5th Avenue and Central Park East. Enjoyed reading about the history of the settling of Ukraine that goes back to the 900s. There are also works of art from the early the 1900s of prominent Ukrainian artists.

I visited the Ukrainian Institute of America for the first time yesterday and if you are going to spend the day at the Metropolitan Museum of Art you really should stop here for about an hour and tour the museum. It is very interesting.

The first floor is dedicated to the history of the mansion and the history of the country of Ukraine. I did not know much about the country's history and I thought it was fascinating. The upper floors were dedicated to an art show of Ukrainian Artists and then the top floor had three different Ukrainian artists in each of the gallery rooms.

Just touring the old home of Augustus Van Horne Stuyvesant and the mansion and how these people must have lived was interesting. The mansion is gorgeous and the woodwork amazing.

It is an interesting way to spend the afternoon and a very overlooked museum. I am glad I went.

There is a very interesting exhibit about Ukraine and Ukrainians in the diaspore. There was also an art exhibit. This is a restored historic mansion and the architecture is stunning! It was a lovely way to spend an hour on a hot day ...the building is air conditioned .

Small museum next to the MET. 50 minutes should be enough to see all of it. $8 General Admission. Special Exhibition “Five Elements of War” was amazing and worth the trip. Real cause behind this art, sending a message about what’s going on between Ukraine and Russia. “Face of War” of Putin is breathtaking

I have come to the Ukrainian Institute many times for culture events, concerts and art shows. Even though we are not Ukrainian, we have always been welcome,
and enjoyed our visits entirely. I suggest to visit their web site, or join their email list for programs coming up... Also if you visit nearby museums such as the Metropolitan Museum, why not stop by here too for a new experience and a short tour of the mansion that houses the Institute.

Very interesting tour of the institute especially the information about the renovations which took place after a Prada rental. Discovered beautiful oak pillars which had been painted over and are now on view in the board room. Amazing views of the Park and an am absolute gem of a house.

This hidden gem of a museum / institute is fantastic, and it is housed in a beautiful Upper East Side mansion, so the admission price is worth it just to see the inside of the mansion. They had a few exhibits, some was very abstract. Upstairs - not sure if this was permanent art of not - were large paintings of some great historic moments, well worth seeing. When upstairs be sure to look out the windows at the view of the park and other city surroundings. Also be sure to admire the wonderful architecture and furniture.

I always admired this beautiful mansion from a far and finally decided to go in; it was AMAZING! I learned so much about the history of Ukraine, and about the previous owners of the home. The exhibit on the Veterans was also very thought provoking; I def recommend stopping by to check it out.

Featured without the regular furniture, but still really impressive, I really enjoyed the OHNY tour. Thanks to the foresight of an early property developer, the whole block is a fine example of pre WW I. But only the Institute is open to the public.
