A park that was once a part of the Alamo but now is an open space for public use and is also the site of San Antonio Jazz festival. It is locate a couple blocks from the current Alamo plaza. Without special event, it is just an open space for recreation or exercise if you are in the area

This park sits just across the street from the St Anthony Luxury hotel we stayed at. President Lyndon Johnson and Lady Bird Johnson we’re married at the church on the other side of the park and walked through it to get to the Luxury where they had their wedding reception. It’s a nice little park, and they have jazz concerts here, although we didn’t get to see any. There were a few down and out people sleeping on the ground, and others hanging out enjoying the day.

Spent several hour here on a Saturday afternoon listening to jazz ensembles and watching people, dogs, kids, etc. Beautifully landscaped by Parks Dept. Actually much more attractive to families and events without the Shrine to the Lost Cause. Great space for outdoor concerts, events, and general recreation.

Stopped here while walking around. It was safe. There were skateboarders and others just hanging. Felt like a locals place.

We go to church across the street from this park, so we see it often. Sometimes church events are held here. We see it constantly changing, mostly for the good. This year (2017) the Christmas tree was moved here from the Alamo plaza. It really adds a lot. This is sort of our north star, judging where things are downtown in relation to Travis Park. I don't know if I would call it a destination, but it is a positive feature of the city.

Not at all pleased with the politics in San Antonio which allowed the wonderfully historic confederate monument to be removed from Travis Park, and the traditional lighting of the Christmas tree moved to Travis Park instead of Alamo Plaza after decades!!! Boo San Antonio! Your colors were showing when I watched the annual boat parade on tv and the mayor and city council patted themselves on the back during the commercial breaks. :-(

My wife and I live in San Antonio and we wanted to see the city's Christmas Tree which for this year was in Travis Park instead of in Alamo Plaza as in years past. We parked across the street from the Alamo, took a Go Rio barge ride along the Riverwalk, and had dinner before walking over to Travis Park to see the Christmas Tree. It was a beautiful tree and looked right at home in the newly remodeled Travis Park. Nice night and visit.

Easily missed, The Travis Park Plaza, is a lovely park in the shape of a city square. Take a few minutes to sit and soak up the comings and goings of people. Little children will love to chase birds and enjoy getting their wiggles out!

We walked over here on Friday night from our downtown hotel for the Jazz’S Alive festival, their 34th annual! Short walk from the Alamo Plaza. Plenty of room for all the food and drink vendors, picnickers with their lawn chairs and blankets, and swing dancers on the walkway and middle plaza! We sat on a low cement wall. I had jambalaya and my daughter had fried shrimp and homemade potato chips. Budweiser was a sponsor, and there were plenty of portable potties. Travis Park is run by the San Antonio Parks Foundation, and its revitalization was sparked by a grant from Southwest Airlines to the City, another reason besides my $350 trip from Columbus to appreciate Southwest.
