Such a great tour Vivas really puts all he can into the tour. He was so passionate about the island and sharing the knowledge. Mahalo from Chelsea and Aaron.

I would have rated this tour higher if I could have heard our driver. The bus was full and there was only the back two rows available on the left when we boarded the bus. There are no speakers over our seats and this meant that we could only hear about 50% of what was said. In addition, we only spent 10-15 minutes at each stop and it always felt rushed. (I had to take pictures of the signs to read them later.) 20-30 minutes would have been better at each at location. If you are visiting for multiple days, I recommend using the list on Robert’s website to create your own two day tour.

I did not realize that this is basically a drive around the island. I was expecting some time to explore the Botanical Gardens; the train tour in Dole Plantations, etc. This tour is over priced for just a drive around the island. we would be better off choosing tours to specific places of interest.

I am currently on the tour. If you are not on the correct side of the bus, you see nothing. The stops are so short and the lines are so long at the stops that you don’t get to do anything. Never even made it into the Dole plantation or the store. And, pineapple being one of my favorite foods, this was one of the main reasons we booked this tour. Very disappointed. Tour Guide had so little to say, that he was trying to make jokes and just became annoying.

If on the island of Oahu a Circle Island Tour is a must.
If you can drive great, but we used Oahu Nature Tours for a long 10 hour day on a small group tour and it was fantastic.DIY means you miss out on the excellent and detailed explanations of each of the places visited.
Stops included the beautiful Hanauma Bay, Halona Blowhole, Sandy Beach, Makapu’u Lookout, Pali Lookout, Valley of the Temples including Byodo-in temple, Chinaman’s Hat, Malaekahana Bay and Beach Park, then north to Kahuku, home of the North Shore’ famous shrimp farms where we ate at Fumis, Sunset Beach, Waimea Valley and Waterfall and the last stop is the historic Dole Plantation.
The tour had detailed explanations of the bird and plant species, geology, history and culture.

Loved the smaller bus. Meant less time waiting for people and more time to enjoy the sites. Awesome guide. Perfect pace. Great itinerary.

I feel like the review depends on which tour company you go with. The reviews are so mixed. I went with Roberts of Hawaii, as it won awards.
For me it worked out well because I did it with an oahu pass (5/5 totally reccomend people to get the pass).
Nonetheless, it wasn't a glood tour and I fell asleep during most of it due to the constant white noise of the driver. I know it's great to get facts but listening to prices of real estate, sugar cane and pineapples isn't anything to do with history. I think they are trained to read off a encyclopedia of nonsense, several passangers asked him to stop. The interesting points got lost in the drivel... Did you know pineapples in 1984 costs blah blah in florida it costs zzz. I feel like I'm with a senile relative at the Christmas dinner table, naming all the cutlery. 'Did you know a knife cuts things?'
'YES Uncle Bob..'
We skipped so many tourist points because they were closed and instead of replacing it with other nearby locations or increasing the length of time at tourist spots, they just bypassed it.
It all felt really rushed 15 minutes here and there and it was all cheap tacky stores, like the coral shop. I am an environmentalist and find selling pearls, coral and shells outdated and ruining the ecosystem. Most airports ban souvenir items such as those and I was surprised that we didn't stop for or get given even one bottle of water.
It doesn't help that I got food poisioning from the lunch stop and spent most of it curled up a ball. If you go to the coral restaurant stick to chicken. Everyone said they really enjoyed the chicken, I ate shrimp which was great but the rice tasted like it had been fried 8 times and soaked in salt and pepper. I tried to wash it off but it didn't work.
Don't bother.

Lots of stops. Most are only 10-15 minutes. Time for photos. Let's you decide what you wish to go back and see more of later. Many great sites you see! Highly recommend. We had a wonderful tour guide, Cousin Dave, who made this from great to amazing.

I really did not know what to expect and I am not one to write reviews, but I felt compelled to give this review since this tour was great overall and I learned a lot about the Hawaiian and Polynesian Culture and I am a tough critic. Our tour guide was a true professional and exceptional - Cousin Kev and he really made the tour fun and his wealth of knowledge was superb. I would recommend this tour as a must. You get to see a variety of different things and the time went by fast. Once again Cousin Kev is a great asset to this tour company and I wish all tour guides were as friendly, knowledgeable and nice as he was. He was a ball of energy and made you feel like family and I loved his humor along the way - He made it fun and a really enjoyable tour. Highly Recommend and Cousin Kev if you are reading this Keep Doing What You Do - You are Awesome!!!!! Love the passion you bring to what you do. You could be a great trainer for other tour guides :-) A+ 5 Stars All The Way! From your Chicago Family. Take Care and Aloha!!!
