On a previous visit to the museum we had seen the reproduction made with great skill that struck us for the intensity of the scene. We arranged to be able to see the tomb in its natural location and thanks to the courtesy and patience of the reservations officer we were able to find a place. Suggestive landscape that can not help but make you think of the time of the construction of the necropolis. Our Guide Chiara with great professionalism described the history of this place and, with a small emotional fall due to the fact that she was part of the team of archaeologists who excavated, the ways in which this tomb was discovered. Those few minutes spent inside are a unique experience, which is lived visiting the many sites scattered throughout the country that tell us about our origins and our history. Again congratulations to the extraordinary work done by the archaeological group that allowed so many people to live this experience. Very good!!

This is an opportunity to see something unique,not many places left where you can still enter a painted Etruscan tomb.A restriction of 5 people per entry with a 4 minute time limit-plenty of time to take photos and soak it in.You need to book your tour at the Civic Archaeological Museum of Sarteano.Limited tours in the off season,we went Saturday 3pm.The visit to the Pianacce necropolis is free,but the tomb has a fee,we bought a combined ticket for the museum, the tomb and the castle for 10 Euros-good value

Having already visited the Sarteano museum in the morning, I was able to make a close comparison between the life-size reconstruction-copy of the tomb set up there and the real tomb in its real context. The copy does not betray the original, it is very well executed and faithful in size and colours. Those who do not have the time or opportunity to see the real tomb may be happy but the emotion is certainly not the same. To enter the royal tomb, however, you need to book at the museum, opening is limited to Saturday afternoons for small groups who are then allowed five people in at a time; many measures to prevent the delicate balance of the internal environment from being too altered. The tomb discovered in 2003 is unparalleled and the surrounding Pianacce necropolis is also very interesting. An exceptionally engaging visit!
