The South Entrance is just a gate with room for a couple of cars to park at the entrance. My Sat Nav looked like I was heading to the middle of an unnamed road but as I passed Volehouse Farm my confidence increased, and I was soon at the signed gate.
The reserve is a series of fields leading down to a wood with a lovely little river running through the centre of it. There is a path through this wooded area on the south side of the river which seemed to lead to more fields but I had to turn back at this point.
It slopes all the way down with grassy tracks, some narrow others wider.
On a lovely, hot, sunny day with not a soul in site it was very peaceful, relaxing and with enough butterflies to keep me entertained on the way.
I haven't looked at the reserve north of the wood/River but I guess it is much the same.
If you would like a stroll through fields with an interesting wooded river area at the bottom, and likely no other person present, I would recommend it.
