I - me and 6 friends - spent three wonderful weeks summer 2018 with Bakir guiding us.
The trek consisted of 3 parts, one week each, in different locations: one in Alai Valley / Kyrgzstan and two different areas in High Pamirs / Tadjikistan. Trekking each day from summer camp (Jailoo) to summer camp, crossing high passes and our great transported by two 4xW.
PAMIRS: If it is superbeautiful in Kyrgyzstan, after climbing to Tajikistan, everything is different: higher, more arid, less populated. And what kind of people: always smiling and laughing, ready to make contact, cooking cheese, baking bread in tandoori oven, children playing, older ones tending the animals or old women coiling their organically dyed threads. Children are happy, look healthy and take contact. Converse and play with rare visitors. Everywhere we feel to be welcome, independent how poor they are.
We had asked to visit as remote places as possible. Trek from valley to next valley over high passes, rucksacks go by car. High up in one valley, without knowing us coming, one old lady offers us a superfluous tea – lunch. Without accepting payment. When asking: ”have you had tourists here? she answered: ”Yes, 8 Italians visited!” I was suspicious: ”When?” ”Five years ago!” This friendlines is something supernormal!
If this were not enough, we met Marc’o Polo sheep on the road. Magical to follow these rare animals fleeing behind nearest ridge. In Murghab we were lucky to attend the Horse Festival - only once a year.

I made a 10-days-cultural-tour with Bakir and his driver Jomaart in June 2019. Alltogehter we made more than 3000kms starting from Dushanbe, touring around Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast (GBAO), the fabulous mountain province of Tajikistan. Bakir is a skilled tour guide and provides deep insight into the country, its people, its history and its traditions. In most of the places Bakir organized home-stays, which allow the tourist even better to get a direct contact with the people and their life-style. I can highly recommend this tour-organizer: if you simply want to travel from A to B, a driver will do it! In case you want to make a cultural tour and learn about the country, its people, its history and its present, then I recommend to book Bakir.

I have spend one of my most wonderful holiday in and around Murghab. Bakir arranged for me a day walk trip in the mountains. He gave me hiking shoes and a warm jacket because I didn`t had it on me. With an old but well working Russian jeep we drove in to a valley. With Bakir I hiked to a top of a smaller hill, we got lunch there and we came down on the other side where the jeep already was waiting for us. This was my first hiking experience but Bakir with his enormous patience and kindness helped me a lot to survive. He has eyes for everything what tourists needs. We have visited several yourts down and local people were extreamly kind to me too. Even the dogs around. On the way home we stopped to watch the amazing sunset when the mountains around got fire colours.
Bakir is an excellent guide in an excellent place. I felt home.

I spent a fantastic two weeks with Bakir on a trip from Dushanbe through the Pamirs along the Afghanistan border, up to Murghab and finally ending in Osh, Kyrgyzstan. All I can say is that it was a trip of a lifetime. I was moved by the hospitality and kindness of the people we met on the way as well as Bakir and the drivers. Bakir was a fantastic guide with good English skills. He was well organized, and we stayed in wonderful homestays along the way. Bakir introduced us to another world that I would not have not been able to experience in Tajikistan had I tried to go it alone.
I hope everyone will visit Tajikistan, and I especially hope everyone will use the services of this company. I felt 100% safe the whole time that I was there, and using a local guide not only opens up doors for travelers, but also employs many people in this isolated part of the world.
I highly recommend Bakir and everyone else at Tour Organizer Tajikistan and hope that everyone who reads this will take the opportunity to travel through this beautiful area of the world!

I traveled to Tajikistan in May and Bakir was my guide. I had a driver called Talaik and both were the nicest people ever. Bakir is Easter Pamirian so he knows the area very well. He introduced me to the locals in his hometown and showed me around. I had some requests as I’m a photographer and I needed to go to very specific places at very specific hours. I spent 7 days and they were always able to get me were I needed to be, always in time.
I’m planning on going back and I will definitely will reach out to him again!

My boyfriend and I took did a 12 day trip from Osh to Dushanbe with Bakir (guide) and Sagyn (driver) and it was an unforgettable experience!
The Pamirs are absolutely beautiful — desolate stark landscapes sprinkled with green jailoos/pastures, and you’ll get a good sample of that from just driving, but what made the experience really memorable were the hikes and cultural exchanges with the local people.
We trekked up Gumbez Pass which was essentially a rock scramble but very exhilarating and with beautiful views into two drastically different valleys. We did another hike to Engle’s Meadow which has a stunning view of Engle’s glacier and peak. The hike back down was equally as beautiful with views into Afghanistan’s Hindu Kush. We also hiked into the lush Jizev valley with some of the most tranquil and crystal clear waters I’ve ever seen.
A trip to such a remote part of the world would be remiss without learning about the locals and their ways of life, and Bakir provided plenty of opportunities for that! Some interesting experiences: learning how kurut (cheese balls) is made, enjoying a Wakhi folk performance by the village people in Jizev valley, milking a yak, riding a yak. We got to stay in yurts and traditional Pamiri houses. And we even learned how to identify different ethnic groups by their hats!
I absolutely recommend doing the Pamirs with Bakir if you get the chance!

We were a group of 8 and the team was of 6 (guide with excellent english, assistant, cook, 3 jeep drivers). We were both in Kirhgizstan (Peak Lenin base camp) and Tajikistan visiting the herders and trekking to high passes. We got to the border of Afghanistan to meet the Wakhi. Everything was well organized, we enjoyed the tour and made friend with the team. A true glimpse into herders' hard life on these high mountains.
