We visited the Midland again and found it so relaxing and safe. This time we went on the third floor with 180 degrees of sea view and a huge balcony. There is access to another balcony facing west so we got the morning and after sun......stunning views and sunsets! Everyone was attentive and Dad ( 99 years) and I felt safe and we had a very restful break. The breakfasts are extremely good and we ate in the Rotunda Bar some evenings. There is also a KFC opposite and two nearby Costa!! All the tourists were aware of distancing and walks along the prom with my young granddaughter were amazing. The playgrounds are excellent and a visit to Happy Mount Park is well recommended!!
Had an outstanding stay at the Midland, the hotel decor and facilities are exceptional and well worth the cost of the stay , the staff and always friendly ,smiling and helpful, it was a sheer delight to stay there ,the Sun terrace restaurant is outstanding it’s menu ,service and views can’t be faulted in any way ,the whole break was a fantastic experience ,which I hope to repeat in the future.
Myself and my daughter came here fir afternoon tea and were not disappointed. We were served in the sun terrace overlooking the sea. Staff were very attentive and covid safe measures in place. The afternoon tea was delicious with more than plenty. Would definitely recommend we had a lovely time.
Forget the pictures of a lovely white statement Art-Deco hotel. What you see as you approach the hotel along the promenade is a drab grey building in need of a coat of paint. For a sea-view room prices are 150-200 per night and in a hotel with no air-con or coffee m/c in the room it's unwarranted. The communal areas are nothing special only the staircase remains as a feature. Our room was above the outdoor bar and although the music didn't go on late we got really sick of the noise at the weekend. The whole place is tired with threadbare carpets, scuffed walls and curtains in communal areas falling down. The restaurant is OK, again not cheap but the staff are lovely and the food nicely presented. This is our first holiday this year and I don't think it was money well spent. We went for specific reasons and probably won't visit Morecambe again, (amazing bay) if I did I would stay at the Best Western on the promenade.…
Fabulous views, great location, iconic hotel, quirky room. Service in the restaurant was really good with a good quality breakfast served. Then there are bits that don’t work - the curtains in the room let lots of light in, the shower leaked all over the place (form over function I think). The reception staff weren’t forthcoming about room readiness so zero flexibility around check in which was unhelpful. The parking charge (if room booked through a third party) was ridiculous and needs an urgent rethink. To add insult to injury we were charged for parking on our bill even though we didn’t use the car park at all (cheeky or lazy - don’t recall anyone asking where we parked). But as I said - fantastic views.
