We went to St. Lucia with another couple to escape the winter. We spent 15 days at Crystals, staying in both Lemon Grass and Silver Palm. Both villas are spacious, comfortable, and have everything you could need. Breakfast is included and was brought to our villa each morning. Beyond the beauty of the rainforest and the perfect weather the staff are the real gem here. They are friendly and responsive to every need we had. Owners, Monica and Martin, welcome you like family and are often at the Tree Top Bar in the evening to visit and share a complimentary rum punch. They have recently opened a restaurant near the bar area that is open 6 nights a week. I enjoyed some of the best Indian inspired food I have ever had. We will definitely return to spend time at Crystals.

An authentic and truly hospitable, boutique, family-run hotel, ‘Crystals Villa’ hotel and its integral Treetops Restaurant present a charming, trustworthy and refreshingly striking home-from-home option on this idyllic isle. From scratch, Monica and Martin have built and integrated half a dozen, well apportioned and individualised villas comprising generously sized bedrooms, fully stocked dining, kitchen and lounge areas as well as enormous private terraces which include plunge pools and sundecks with to-die-for elevated views of the Pitons. This couple have magically created a wonderful, eclectic and intriguing (perhaps even bohemian) portfolio of character-filled spaces for leisure, dining, lounging, socialising, partying. Much of the furniture and fittings have been hand-built [by multi-talented Martin] from solid hardwoods, adorned with bright fabrics and ornaments which liberally decorate and colourfully enhance the whole environment. Without much more decoration, we can imagine this mini campus hosting fantastic celebration events such as weddings and family gatherings. Our villa - Papaya - included two generously ample double-bedrooms. Ceiling heights and full height windows create a feeling of enormous space with a pleasant breeze adding to the appeal of freshness all around. The villas cater to a wide range of guests’ desires and uses, with rooms that have been robustly constructed, with all the amenities you could reasonably want. As a package, the resort presents several options either to spend quiet, contemplative time, calmly surveying the exceptional views towards the Pitons (perhaps writing your memoirs), or to lay on lounger beds on your own large secluded terrace (perhaps building your tan) or to venture out on one of many activity / excursions or to sample nearby Soufriere with its many beach, bar and restaurant options (perhaps seeking out the fun). You can choose to hire a car locally or rely on local taxis. In fact, Monica is able and willing literally to sit with you when you arrive and help you plan your entire holiday schedule - arranging activities, excursions and local transport all at extremely good rates. Gregor - Martin’s brother - was our driver and couldn’t have been more helpful, patient and careful when delivering us wherever we chose to go. Oh, and in case they don’t blow their own trumpets, Martin’s side of the family are also professional musicians. Unsurprisingly, most of our fellow guests were staying for a good number of nights. Involving and encouraging the youth, enthusiasm and devotion of their beautiful grown-up children - Soulange & Marvin especially - in the operations and development ideas for this mini hillside resort is one of the smart ways in which they are incorporating more and more eco-tourism features which enhance the appeal for this miniature piece of paradise. This lovely family ooze charm, display diligence and grace their guests with authentic social charm. Staff all appear delighted to be associated with this continually evolving project. From the heartfelt warmth of the reception, to the hotel quality service standards and concierge-type support simultaneously supplied for multiple guests, everything seems to blend seamlessly together. All the food / meals are wholesome, reverently prepared and served with ease. Breakfast is routinely delivered to your villa each morning. The cocktails served by Mixologist Hamilton - as mentioned by many other reviewers - are sublime with an exhaustive range of almost every conceivable option on offer. This is so much more than a hotel resort. The entire family will envelope you in a warm glow that will lift all your burdens and sweep away any anxiety or troubles. Whether you choose to climb the Pitons (as we did) or visit the plantations/botanic gardens or jump in a boat heading out for lunch at nearby Sugar Beach resort, Monica has a vast knowledge of what will, ….well, …. float your boat! She also seems to know everyone on the island, so can advise on what/where/who is or is not reliable. Such is the warmth and inclusive welcome of this family, that all guests get along so well. Our stay at Crystals Villa Hotel formed part of our visit to the island. Compared to alternatives, we can confirm Crystals Villa is more than just an incredibly exotic hotel: it is a safe, friendly, happy, homely, lively and well-served resort. As seasoned international travellers, we highly commend it and the family that so ably runs it. [NB. Confusingly, there is another listing for Crystals Villa with many more reviews.]

We spent our 9th Anniversary in Papaya Villa and had an a very good time. I have recommended to my close friends and have gotten numerous inquiries from others on my social media from the jaw-dropping, stunning, natural backdrop of the Pitons in our photos from the room. There is a natural breeze chasing off bugs [well at least I never got bothered]. The staff was very welcoming and the room was fully equipped for cooking [if you want to]. Otherwise you are a short drive to the town to enjoy lunch, dinner, drinks and the tours in Soufriere. Thanks Crystals for a wonderful retreat. We will definitely return.
