Thank you to Captain Karem, Ali, and Warda for a wonderful sunrise boat trip on the River Nile with delicious Egyptian breakfast. The river was flat calm, and it was warm enough to go without a jacket.

Very relaxing, great views of the Nile, and delicious food. Apartments are spacious and clean. Bikes available to use each day, and day tours available with Ahmed. We did one and it was a great experience! Met some cool people who we continue to keep in touch with. Would definitely stay here again!

I found Luxor Guest House on Booking.com chose them because their rating was high. I am very happy I made the choice! Room is big and clean, staff super helpful and friendly, especially Hassan and his son Ali. Super hard workers and always jump to help out with any request. The owner Ahmed, is a very knowledgeable Egytptologist & guide. Prices are very fair!!! he has a degree in Egyptology and knows the in's and out's of all the local sites.... Use his services.... You WILL NOT regret it! The Hotel also has a great view of the Nile and Luxor Temple, a pool table, a swimming pool, Restaurant serving tasty local dishes, and a boat service that can either ferry you at a fair price to the city or take you around to sites on half day or full day excursions. It is fun and the boat driver Kareem is a fun young man who knows his way around and is a careful safe captain. I am traveling alone but, met a few families with small children, they too were impressed with the service and care taken with their children, by the sweet staff. Family environment with a 5* service. THANKS GUYS Brian

I had a 3 night stay in a first floor 2 room apartment with a great view to the Nile. There was a sleeping room and a living room, both with balconies, a kitchen equipped with fridge, table, chairs. The bathroom with shower and hot water from boiler, functioning properly. Clean towels were also present. The guest house is located on on the west bank of the Nile, there are 6-8 kilometers to the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple and Habu Temple. To get to the East Bank objectives you can take either the ferry which is 500 meters away to the north or get a boat ride with one of the staff, it is a little more expensive than the ferry but you can choose your landing further north and spare a longer walk or ride on the eastern bank. The Luxor Temple is almost directly across the Nile, the Luxor Museum is nearby and about 2.5 km north from the Luxor Temple there's Karnak. The staff is very kind and helpful, the owner speaks very good English and is very knowledgeable of the touristic objectives, can provide useful information and at request can arrange for transport or guided tours and trips. He arranged for my airport transfer by boat and taxi and early breakfast. A piece of advice for those arriving by car: If you're getting there from the south on the western bank, google maps may suggest a convoluted access through a residential area and banana plantation. The road is quite bad and narrow that way. It's better to keep the Cairo to Aswan Road, enter Al Qarna Rd and from the roundabout go south to the guesthouse. the road from the roundabout to the guesthouse on the bank of the river is quite rough but only about 500 meters. Also, bringing some kind of mosquito repellent is highly advisable especially if you plan on keeping the balcony door open like I did. I liked very much the early morning breakfast on the terrace on the guesthouse roof, sunrise on the Nile from my room, the white-blue theme of the building and bougainvillea bushes decorating the courtyard. The staff was helpful but reserved enough as not to be intrusive, and you could either take advantage of their extra services (transport, guide, trips) or not, no problem, they offered but did not insist.
