My family of four stayed a couple of nights in June. Yea it is brand new but the layout of the room isn’t the most ideal for families. The layout is long and narrow including the bathroom. The bathroom door is a wide sliding door with frosted glass which means when someone goes in att night and turns on the lights, the entire sleeping area has that light shining on it. Rather than a stand up shower the bathroom bad a tub. Noise also seemed to travel easily between rooms through the walls. While some of the reviewers reported getting ocean view rooms which they do have, the view isn’t the best as the property is only four stories tall and there are old buildings and trees obstructing much of the view. You can walk to the beach which is just one traffic light away. The pool was sizable. Breakfast is your standard “free” breakfast. Found it interesting that the sweet ladies working there are made to ask for key cards. All in all, a new, clean property but I will not be staying here again.

This last minute find really made our trip perfect! We decided to do a 3-day trip to celebrate the end of the school year for our son. Since it was last minute, everything was booked and there was the added pressure to find a hotel that was pet friendly for our 8 lb yorkie. This hotel was perfect! It was new, huge room and restroom, had a mini fridge/microwave plus it was located across the street from the beach. Our room was on the 2nd floor (hotel has 4 levels) and we hardly heard any noise from the outside or any of the surrounding rooms. Breakfast was complimentary and had plenty of food items to choose from to get our mornings started. Parking in the hotel lot was $15 (daily fee) and we didn't have any problem with finding a spot each time we returned for the evening. Our mini fridge wasn't getting very cold and after we called downstairs, they sent maintenance up within 5 minutes. After he reset the breaker, the fridge worked perfectly. Beds were very comfy and the sitting area was roomy. Although the hotel website indicated masked were required in the common areas (lobby, elevator and such due to Covid), I noticed people did not abide by that rule after they were checked in. My family seemed to be the only ones that wore masks in those areas and it was okay with us to continue to be on the side of caution during our stay. I'm sure we'll be visiting this area again because it was plenty more that we wanted to do and see. This hotel is connected to another Marriott property and the signs are not very clear when we pulled up, but the doors are opposite each other.

Brand new, we were not sure if they had ironed out all the wrinkles but they have. Brilliantly. Super friendly, helpful staff and comfortable rooms. Practically on the beach which is great, it is a mile away from the cutesy restaurants and shops of Fernandina Beach. We needed to find a last minute restaurant that could accomodate a family party of 9 and they graciously set up tables by the pool and could not have been nicer. The bistro style food was just ok but the warm atmosphere and great, smiling service made it worth our while.
