We ha had a suite in the tennis villas. It was absolutely beautiful. The bathroom was separated nicely. The balcony was nice to relax on. The cleaning services were done well. Everything in or room was always clean

I decided I needed a work-out vacation. Went to BLR on my own. You go for a full week, (or more) and work-out daily, learning that you can do far more than you thought. We had large people needing to get healthy, to those of us who work out but needed a jump-start. The number of attendees can change weekly and some stay for several weeks. We had great trainers, food and workouts, including in the gym, outdoors and on the beach. We had classes on nutrition and self motivation, ate well (the Program is all inclusive) and were in a beautiful location. The BLR is on an Omni Hotel and Vacation Villas property. We stayed in villas with a washer/dryer . The Biggest Loser Website is pretty accurate, but is a little confusing on check-in locations and times. I just called and the trainer clarified everything. I can't say enough good things about the staff. Everyone from chef, servers and trainers were wonderful. A few of us had issues with hotel room cleanliness, but the Omni tried to correct everything. Overall a great experience.

Since no one seems to admit visiting the biggest loser resort other than the one brave reviewer, I'm putting myself out there. I agree with everything in the prior review. We had about 17 people this week, with a range of ages (14 to 63), and a range of fitness abilities and shapes. Apparently, the average stay is 3 weeks, but we were there for one week. The first week focuses on the education component of nutrition, fitness and life coaching. The classes were very well done and informative. Generally, the right level of information. They focus on the importance of clean eating and physical movement. They explain why diets don't work and how to live by eating nutritious foods in combinations in sensible portions. Then they feed you that way. There are 3 meals and 2 snacks daily. The chef tries very hard to implement the nutritionist's recommendations with tasty food. Most people were not hungry. (I admit, I was sometimes). The exercise is NOT what you see on the TV show. All activities are shown at 3 or 4 levels of difficulty depending on where a person can safely be challenged. There's a lot of movement, but it includes daily stretching and pool activities (if desired). There are games or activities like tennis, volleyball, water polo, bicycling, etc. and they change every day. The trainers are nurturing, knowledgeable, motivational and will push you harder than you ever thought you could go. Everyone was amazed at their accomplishments at end of the week. The resort itself is fabulous. The beach is beautiful and there are miles of paths through gorgeous areas. The resort is 1350 acres and had tennis, golf, bike riding, and a lot of other options. The biggest loser guests stay in the tennis villas about a mile away from the main resort. The best part of the villas are the in unit washer and dryer and jacuzzi. The villas are not what you would expect of a 4 diamond resort (maybe a 2 star), but they are comfortable and located close to all of the biggest loser functions and meals. A free resort shuttle is always available to get to other areas of the resort very quickly with easy friendly service. My only complaint was with the housekeeping which was not consistent. The floors and areas of the villa were not clean upon arrival and never really clean during our stay. The air conditioning was broken in the first unit and we had to switch rooms (both were dirty). One of the other guests also had her room left with the toilet "full" from the housekeeping staff and other unusual things done to her room. The public areas also needed better housekeeping. If attended to properly, I would give the experience 5 stars. The program focused on losing body fat, gaining muscle and not relying on the scale. There seemed to be nice progress across the group in the first week body composition results. If you go, bring a sweater or jacket for the conference rooms. Enjoy the group of people that you are with and be prepared to make meaningful changes in your life.

This experience exceeded my expectations. To begin with, the resort is on he grounds of The Omni Hotel Plantation and it is absolutely gorgeous. Palms, live oaks, little lizards running around, a true feel of the old Florida. I opted for a single villa so I could have a washer/dryer, I did laundry every day. The room is HUGE, two, double beds, desk, chair and arm chair, and small balcony. TV, wifi enabled, small refrigerator and coffee maker and kitchen sink. Bathroom has walk in closet, double sink, jacuzzi tub (used it every day) walk-in stall shower big enough for two, people and toilet in an alcove with a door for privacy. Rooms are cleaned every other day. On to the program. It involves education (nutrition, exercise physiology, life coaching) and lots of exercise, classes, cardio, strength and stretching. Ladies be advised there are several pool classes with jumping so have a supportive bathing suit! There are outdoor classes that provide models for what one can do back home. The trainers are wonderful- knowledgeable, motivating and supportive. There are 3 levels of modification for all exercises and you work within your level, and push yourself as you get stronger. I was pleased and amazed with my increase in muscle mass after just one week. That is another important factor, learning that it is not just lbs, but lbs of fat and lbs of muscle that are important. I was pleased with the amount of food, prearranged menu, but very disappointed in the preparations- too bland. If you are serious about not just weight loss but overall improvements in strength, flexibility, endurance, and learning what your body can handle you must try this. I met an amazing group of people to work with including the trainers. Don't go if you are going to make excuses and not throw yourself into it whole heatedly . I am still trying to integrate all that I learned and I look forward to going back for a refresher. I did not lose that much weight but.. I lost fat and gained muscle and I fell soooo much better than when I went. Friends commented on how different I look even before they knew where I went!
