I slept here for a night with my family. I liked their rooms overall but didn't enjoy breakfast, very small quantities and very little to choose from. It's a very quiet area, very relaxing too. The staff was helpful and kind. I'd visit this place again if they improved on their breakfast and Wi-fi connection.

I stayed here with 7 friends so we could attend Siavonga Music Festival, which was taking place about 15 minutes walk down the road at Eagle's Rest Resort. The location was great but in terms of other feedback: 1) Rooms were cleaned on daily basis but often toilet paper wasn't replaced and clean towels weren't provided. One of my friends ended up using her sarong as a towel after repeated requests for a new one didn't yield any results. 2) On the first day we were there we all ordered the same thing from the restaurant for lunch (sandwiches and fries) but the order took almost 2 hours to arrive. 3) The staff were not particularly friendly and the lodge manager requested payment from us as soon as we arrived, instead of allowing us to pay on check out. 4) The water didn't work in the rooms for several hours during one morning of our stay. 5) The breakfast was decent enough (sausage, egg etc.) but basic items (glasses, milk etc.) were not replaced by the staff as they were being used, which meant that we were constantly asking for things which delayed our meal. 6) Their website claims that there is satellite TV in all rooms - there were only three working channels on my TV, two of which were very fuzzy. 7) The pool (though filled with water from a hosepipe) looked too dirty to swim in - I didn't see anyone using it during the duration of our stay. In conclusion: I don't think there are that many accommodation options in Siavonga but I wouldn't recommend this place, particularly for the price we paid (K500 for a standard double).

Rooms cost around USD 60 per night which makes the Skyview a more affordable option to the more established hotels in Siavonga. For that you get a clean room and bathroom with AC, hot water and a large (empty) fridge and if that is all you need then I would recommend the Skyview. The staff are very friendly and the chef is very proud of his kitchen - he made a real effort to prepare a vegetarian option for a colleague which in fact turned out to be really nice. The breakfast was far more than I expected with a buffet that included bacon, sausages, beans and eggs as per your choice plus cereals, bread etc. The bar is very well stocked but if you need something sugar free then your only option is still water! Also probably better to bring your own wine as the only options on sale are the South African headache in a bottle type reds. I stayed at the Skyview as a participant in a workshop and if you are the organiser of such event then you really should steer clear of Skyview. The room is dark and the Air Cons simply cannot cope with the heat and remember I was there in the relative 'cool' of February. The chairs in the meeting room are extremely uncomfortable. On the other hand the chef did not disappoint and prepared some extremely tasty snacks for the breaks. The buffet lunch was also well prepared. The Skyview Lodge as its name suggest does not in fact have a view of the lake, being located on the edge of a small inlet which does not make it a great place to enjoy sundowners. The pool was either being built or renovated and indeed the whole site is under renovation with many rooms being upgraded.
