We selected Ward Farm on the basis of the reviews in Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. The only disadvantage is its location out in the sticks and inevitably working farms are not "chocolate box" pretty which is a bit off-putting on arrival but otherwise Ward Farm scores top marks in all categories as previous reviewers have reported. The only thing to add is our luck in being able to buy organic pork and sausages which were much enjoyed during our self catering week which followed. Definitely the best value B and B we have had for a long time.

I have stayed at Ward Farm with my partner and recently went back with a friend in tow as we had a function to go to in nearby Ludlow. After our first visit, I knew this would be the best place to stay in the area. The owners, Juliet and Richard, and their family are very hospitable and generous. Ward Farm is hidden away amid acres of greenery. The rooms are immaculate and well stocked with organic products and ample tea and coffee supplies. Juliet keeps a well stocked information pack in each room which is brilliant if you know nothing about the local area! the rooms and bathrooms are immaculate and the decór is very soothing! Views from all of the rooms are wonderful, and there is nothing better than waking up to the sounds of farm animals waking up too! A very warm welcome is on the cards upon arrival, and Juliet has the kettle on and a slice of cake out for you as soon as you want it, which is ususally pretty soon after a long drive! Breakfasts are brilliant too - lots of options and if you are a emat eater you have the added bonus of knowing that your bacon has come straight from the farm! I'm certain I will stay here again in the future, either with my partner or a friend or relative.

We were looking for a relaxing short break away from the hassles of life and we found the perfect escape with Ward Farm. Tucked away in the back lanes of Shropshire, it's in a lovely situation and the room we stayed in was very spacious and the bed was really comfy. Juliet, Richard and family couldn't have been more welcoming and nothing was too much effort. On arrival we had tea and home made cake and then visited their new arrivals on the farm - piglets! Breakfast was great with eggs from the farm and local organic produce. Trays in the bedroom were really well presented with fruit as well as the usual biscuits and tea. An extra nice touch was the fridge for guests to use which always had fresh milk for tea and wine glasses in. It also came in handy for chilling our wine in! We had a wonderful break despite the horrible August weather and would thoroughly recommend you stay at Ward Farm. However, you will need a car to get anywhere as it is in the middle of nowhere - about 3 miles from the nearest pub or shop so bear this in mind. We had a lovely meal in the Crown pub about 4 miles away - Juliet has a big board in her front hall with a local map highlighting all the local pubs in about a 15 mile radius - such a useful reference - I wish all B&Bs had one!

A stay at Ward Farm - a working farm tucked away in lush countryside - has become the standard by which we will judge all B & Bs in terms of friendliness, hospitality, comfort and value for money. Over the past 12 months, we have booked and stayed in 24 B & Bs throughout the UK - so we know a great B & B when we experience it. Juliet and Richard are brilliant hosts who greeted us with help to park our trailer and immediately provided a pot of tea and superb home-made cake after a long journey. They have an eye for detail and everything that the discerning visitor could wish for. The bedroom was extremely spacious and beautifully furnished; and whilst our bathroom with shower was not ensuite, it was just next door and also finished to a very high standard. However, there is ensuite accommodation with a lovely big wet room. Our hostess insisted she would be on hand to provide breakfast despite our unsocially early start. Our table was laid to perfection. In addition to cereals, a full English breakfast was included using eggs from the farm.. Staying at Ward Farm was just like staying with friends and we have been back since - not to stay but to see them, buy some eggs and order our Christmas turkey. This was five star accommodation and treatment at a fraction of the cost of a luxury hotel.
